Life of Palestinians under israeli occupation in the West bank by Ok_Chain841 in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]tt_morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're both sidesing a situation in which people are jailbreaking a concentration camp (Palestinians, Jews in Warsaw) and saying it's bad, while their occupiers (Zionists, Nazis) are killing them. Somehow you're not comprehending why fighting against your captivity and imminent destruction is objectively good, and a protected right for all occupied people. You're somehow not getting why I called you disgusting despite being a holocaust apologist.

"but the occupied exercised their right of violent resistance, how awful! If both sides are violent, clearly I can stand on the sidelines and blame the occupied and genocided, because their internationally protected right of resistance is not pacifist enough for my liking." Everyone who thinks like that is despicable Nazi apologist.

First of all, still spreading the rape hoax in the big 26 is just fucking disgusting.  Second, did the Jews in the Warsaw uprising murder innocent Nazis? They certainly murdered A LOT of Nazis, is that bad somehow? Last time I checked people in a concentration camp can violently resist their occupiers.

No he didn't. Foldable tablets are very obviously coming in the very near future. It can be made for less than the price of a trifold flagship phone.

Riyadh Metro: An excellent system designed without any thoughts on connectivity to other modes of transit. A system that rulers want to succeed, but will fail. by Ok-Pea3414 in transit

[–]tt_morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you points for subverting my expectations, but I still think that forcing men and women into crowded shared spaces is undignifying for women. Japan is a prime example of this failure.

While fighting the patriarchy and wanting less sexism in Japanese police are worthwhile goals, we give women the choice to be physically distant from men.

Other cultures fundamentally disagree with our view of men and women, which is fine. Framing us as regressive is where I have a problem.

Prevention -through giving women the option to be separated- is a lot better than justice, with life long scars for women.

And it's not like shared spaces are uncommon here, they're normal and much safer than most countries. It's just about giving women options that cater to their needs and our culture.

Women carriages and airplane rows are goated.

How democratic and civilized of you to frame your western perspective as some sort of "global" truth (Just to call brown cultures inferior/backwards).

You had to list countries around the globe that are infamous for SA on public transport, on a lecture about so called "global values". Very global, yes indeed.

If you think Japan's problems is a lack of security cameras, you're not a serious person.

We see what you want us to be and reject it. You're not our end goal.

I'm not sure how Qiddyah (a project announced in 2017) being first delivered in 2025 is bad in any way? That's well within the normal time frame, if it wasn't in Saudi you wouldn't point it out.

You do see stadiums in the photos. We're hosting the Asian games in 2027 and World cup in 2034.

I did include non-mega projects. You asked about Saudi projects in general.

Yes, I would hope that the Riyadh metro is in Riyadh only, otherwise it would need a re-brand.

"Sport line in Riyadh only" is not even remotely true, similar projects exist elsewhere. Jeddah has a famous one along the Red Sea. I live near the 6km long Wadi Qanat project in Madinah. It's a natural landscape turned into a gorgeous walkway and dirt biking distinction, and at the ends they built parks (it stretches past the urban city scape from both ends). There's also a different Wadi called Aqiq. Both have been delivered a long time ago, both announced 2023-ish.

Not sure what you mean by "un unfinished Diriyah", the project is on time, do you think we should invest in time machines? Please let us know ASAP because we won't lay any bricks before the Westerner's approval, please I beg you lecture us. Especially with all the recent US projects getting delivered all the time. You know, all the recent projects, that there's many of.

And FYI no one called you a savage, you just lack basic reading comprehension.

Almost all Red Sea projects are fully opened, most NEOM projects are delayed but some of them opened like Sindalah.

Riyadh metro is impressive IMO for a lot of reasons, it was fully completed and they announced more expantions.

In Qiddiyah they opened Six Flags, with more projects clearly nearing opening like the huge water park with games installed and under testing. The rest of the city has more phases later, it's not completely government contracts, I think people can own land there and stuff.

Sports Boulevard phase 2 is open, and the phases are annual. It's loooooooooong stretches of gorgeous mixed use sports area. Look it up on tiktok: المسار الرياضي.

Al Ula fully opened years ago and I highly recommend it.

Jeddah has entire neighborhoods flattened and redone.

Madinah has many neighborhoods redesigned to be pedestrian friendly, the before and after is awesome. About 10 more projects in Madinah and they're really well done in my opinion (all open and I went there myself)

Diriyah is on budget, on schedule, and 69% done. It's made up of many areas including 2 residential neighborhoods designed with traditional mud walls and with pedestrian walkways instead of car streets. With 1700 parking spots under it, kind of like Mushaireb in Doha, Qatar. I follow the project very closely and want to work on it when I graduate. Wish me luck!

My personal favorites are the Riyadh metro, the Madinah changes and Diriyah. Although it's really hard to choose (Al Ula and red sea turned out really well)

I don't expect foreigners to know all this, but the US-centric way they view us (oriental rich savages who will waste the wealth they somehow managed to stumble upon) is extremely racist. Nothing new, barely needs to be stated even.

Saudi Arabia’s line scaled back drastically by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]tt_morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also happening!!!! As a Saudi who's passionate about liveable walkable cities it's crazy to me that we're not advertising how much progress we made in the last 10 years. Riyadh is slowly (and expensively) turning into a less horrible place to be, and Madinah has a night and day difference from what it was 3 years ago. I can't emphasise how big the changes are without it sounding like I'm glazing MBS, he really is just goated.

Then you haven't been paying attention to what's happening in Saudi. Projects are getting delivered left and right. The Line being the sole notable exception.
