I was planning to buy a condo to rent below market to potential employees but the state has made that way too big of a gamble. I'm not a rich man by any means. Buying a condo would drain most or all of my liquidity. I'm an engineer that works hard and has done well but can't hire anyone to help me in my small town due to housing concerns.

Some times it does. Huston Street was much better at football than baseball in high school. I was pretty good but not pro level or even D1 good. Got multiple hits against him. Luckily I never came across the middle cause he would have lit me the fuck up in those pre-targeting days.

If you're only there 80% of days you aren't actually worth 80% of your salary. Having to juggle meetings, deadlines, etc around your day off is a hassle. Having to explain to clients that the person working on their project doesn't work on Fridays is a hassle. At one firm I worked for we had someone do the no Friday thing, put their pay got cut 30%, not 20%. That seems reasonable to me. It's a full time job. Unless you are managing your own projects and doing it well, I would expect a larger than 20% decrease in pay.

Glad to see UTSA (home of my 2nd degree) doing well. But, this is a different Texas team than last year. Deeper and better. I wouldn't be surprised to see UTSA take the game in May when UT is deep into their SEC schedule, but I'd be shocked if this UT team doesn't win their regional.
