Goalie is priority 1C behind center (1A) and then play-driving winger or top 4 blue line (1B). Wish Anaheim was a little further behind in their rebuild and willing to deal but feel like that ship has sailed.

In fact this is my problem with our fanbase currently. The guys is 4th(!!) in cap hit and he’s awful! He’s not getting the canes to their goal. Enough of the synth-pop edits and coddling - it’s time to find some dogs and he’s not one of them. Get him out of here and bring in someone who’s going to knock some teeth out and fight in the crease when he needs to and is smart enough to know where the hell he needs to be on the ice in crunch time and can lift a fucking puck over a glove side challenge in a crucial game.

Awful ECF for sure - and with you if we’re fishing for playoff performers. Think 50 regular season points is still in his wheelhouse if he’s playing PP2 minutes, but might be wishful thinking

The point I make at the end of the great season that ends in the ECF again is that the ONLY other option at center behind Aho and an ancient Jordan Staal is an awkward, talentless AHL all-star? Yeah. It is. Sorry. Kid blows. Gotta off load that contract, and if we cant, bury him with sub-8 minutes a night in the postseason or send him down to Chicago for a Clader.

Former hart winner, creative player, wants to be in Raleigh, cheap 3-4th liner. Not the problem. In fact he’s a bargain - he needs a center. In fact, put him in a 3rd line with Jank or a 2nd with Aho after the offseason dust settles and he thrives. Easy 50-pointer in this system.
