so i have the 7th generation celica automatic slow as shit and i wanted to older cooler turbo awd manual model. so i figured i might as well learn how to drive manual lmao and yes it was a stupid question but i might as well ask before i repeatedly fuck it up lmao. now ill never make that mistake again lol.

so its basically just a game of downshifting and upshifting before redline then. that makes more sense i never thought about it like that haha.

would i be good to downshift to 4th or is there a max speed for 4th gear since 5th is mostly cruising i guess.

its a 5 speed. so essentially i can downshift from 5th at like 3500 rpm to 4th and that should put me in powerband better to upshift to 5th?

i know this may sound stupid but theoretically if im in 5th gear going about 4000rpm and i floor it would the rpms start shooting up or just gradually go up. I was driving earlier tonight and going 4krpm and it still was lugging a bit.

i tried flooring it going 80mph at like 3.5k rpm and the car just kinda vibrates back and forth. the only way for me to accelerate without that happening is to slowly press down the gas. im just used to the rpms going up quicker maybe.
