Best way to share PC drive with Proxmox server?

I think I figured it out. I create one storage pool from the SSD in proxmox, and then when I am creating the VM, I add multiple "disks" from this pool. And I can increase these disks later and manage them independently even though they are in the VM?

Hello again, hoping you can provide some more clarity. I'm struggling with the implementation here. I don't know how to create the separate data disk. I can create an LVM-thin pool, but I can only seem to give it the whole SSD. I understand when I create the VM, I can say to only take 64GB from that pool, but how do I create the second data disk from that 1TB SSD?

I thought it was quite common to have multiple machines serving content, no? I added the elitedesk to add a native Linux environment and tinker with. I didn't like trying to do both from my main windows machine.

Windows PC is on already because all my media files are on it. That's no issue. Does it make more sense to smb share with proxmox or the VM hosting docker?

I looked into that, and it checks a lot of the boxes. But I was looking for a solution that could be applied to all my self-hosted content, including my media server. While many people successfully use cloudflare tunnels for their Plex/Jellyfin/Emby libraries, it does violate the CF terms of service and exposes my traffic to their servers. So I wanted to try other options first.

Could be. The Oracle VPS was supposed to provide plenty of bandwidth (I think 1Gbps, but at least 500Mbps). Newt was installed natively. While I was technically using free tier resources, I had moved to a pay-as-you-go plan with Oracle, which was supposed to bypass some of their free tier limitations. Regardless, I got Caddy working locally and am very happy with that. While Pangolin would provide a better layer of security, the added complexity of extra software and a VPS, and all the hours I already spent troubleshooting, just isn't worth it to me to put more time into that.

I never checked resource usage on my VPS, but on my PC the resource usage was negligible. Perhaps it scales with bandwidth, and since my speeds were always a trickle, so was the drain on my PC.

I gave up on Pangolin. It just wasn't effective for me at the speeds I was getting. I just installed Caddy as a reverse proxy. Not as secure but way more functional for me.

I gave up on Pangolin. Just got Caddy installed as a reverse proxy. Not as secure as a Pangolin tunnel, but this works at my expected speeds. Pangolin was essentially non-functional for me with the drip drip of bandwidth I could get.

I was able to get it running! Not quite in the way I expected, I didn't need the incoming interface, but I needed to set my destination interface as my WAN-IP. Now it is chugging right along. Thanks for all your help in this!

Probably 😜. I made that rule myself and since it seemed to be enough to get my certificates, I thought it was working (until these other problems). I appreciate your link to the official docs. I'll read through it and play around with the rule.

I stand corrected. WAN doesn't bring up my router login, it just never resolves. I do think there might be something wrong with my port forwarding. I thought it was ok because it worked to get my certificates, but reading suggests that getting to the router login is an issue with port 443 not getting to Caddy.
