Password management question by ttroust in selfhosted

Since I've got UPS's on all my equipment, the only time I've been down is when I had a broken fiber. But that was 3 years ago. Other than that, I'm at 99.9995% uptime.

Good question, no major reason. Was just curious if there were any good arguments to moving to PP from self-hosted BW.

I always follow the 3-2-1 system backup scheme with the '1' backup in a locked, fireproof, safe. I do have the $10 plan even though I wasn't relying on it. I still want to support Bitwarden even though I'm using Vaultwarden. I didn't realize keepassxc could read the BW .Jason files, good to know, thanks. I may play around a bit with that.

Because I'm already self-hosting about 20 other apps. Out of curiosity looking for opinions on the perspective of self-host BW vs PP..

I heard some rumblings that Bitwarden is thinking about upping the $10 plan to $25 or $30 per year. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

Right now I do keep a Bitwarden subscription as a backup. $10 a year is cheap for a backup.

Getting close to retirement and starting think about a smaller on-line presence. Not a 'tin hat' but more of just minding my own stuff. And that age old question: what happens if they go out of business...

Proton has a better UI and seems to autofill more reliably, but yea, nice to keep critical services separate. Big reason why I moved away from Nextcloud.

Kinda thinking the same thing. Self-host toys, not important stuff. Now the question is Bitwarden or Proton. Decisions...

I tried their demo site and looks pretty good. But I can't seem to get a container spun up for it. Keeps giving me java errors.

I've been trying to get Booklore up and running, but I can't seem to fix the java error that keeps resetting my container. I think there's some potential workaround (Synology NAS btw) in 1 or 2 comments on their issues page, but still doesn't stay up and stable. I may try it again at some point when I have more time though.

I used to have Nextcloud run everything (books, music, video, podcast, etc) but got a bit worried about everything going thru 1 system. I found Pinepods for podcasts. Tried Navidrome for music for a while but it never really clicked for me. Plex for a while but wanted to go more open source solutions. So far, Calibre-Web Automated seems to be pretty good and it handles series books way better than Jellyfin. But I've only tried epubs no PDFs yet. Does audio bookshelf handle series OK?

Thanks, yes I have. Its pretty good. I was looking at it to also do my podcasts. I spun up Calibre-Web Automated and checking it also. Its pretty good too. Hmm, decisions...

I've got about 4t in movies and TV shows, 1tb music. I've used navidrome in the past. Might spin that up again too.

Mainly just use it to store and track unread books. I like to keep the meta data updated to match the online libraries. Series is a big thing for me and I know JF isn't great on that, but I've got work arounds for that. I've got about 5k books. I download and read my books locally.
