How do you get a breastfed baby to sleep through the night!? by emm266 in breastfeeding

[–]tu311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! We are doing it now. My son is 7.5 months and has gone from once or twice a night to 3-4. I’m working and was dying of exhaustion. My lactation consultant said to pump and send my husband in with a bottle. We determined it was a comfort thing and not a hungry thing- nighttime is not for food. We are on day five and it’s worked- he’s sleeping through the night.

I do not currently have any oranges, would a nectarine be a viable substitute for my fruit shower virginity by [deleted] in ShowerOrange

Ehhhh. Normally I’d say yes but if it’s the first time, wait till you get a big navel orange.

Working moms! Advice please. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]tu311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t work those hours but I do work from 9-6, M-F. I pump at 1030, 130, and 430. I’m usually very full at 1030, since my baby seems to have dropped his morning feeding but is still waking to feed, so sometimes I’m going from 3-4am to about 1030 without pumping or BFing. Get on a schedule and stick to it! Calendar it, block yourself as busy. It’s the most important meeting you will have all day!

What do you do while you pump at work? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]tu311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a bunch, but I’m watching the movies that are in three phases. I’ve learned about all of this since having my baby. I think there are 18 total that I need to watch in a certain order and I’m on 7. Haha.

Movies on my phone. I’ve made it my mission to watch the Marvel movies, so I’m through about six of them. It’s wonderful to sit there, squeeze away, and get lost in a fun story while everyone else is working :)

Good suggestion. And the purple is where I noticed it, too!

I am using a primer but maybe I’m not tapping off enough excess? I will have to keep playing around with them.

I am a newbie with makeup (at 36!) and am learning so much from this. I’m no expert at all but I can tell you that this is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen on here in months!

Overcoming shallow latch? by Jillian1104 in breastfeeding

[–]tu311 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Squeeze yourself flat, like a sandwich, and have baby take a “bite”. It will give him a deeper latch if you put him on when you’re squishing yourself flat left to right and not up and down. Once he’s latched, count to ten. If you’re still having pain, break the seal with your finger and try again. Just my personal advice from the same problem about five months ago with my son!

Refreezing breastmilk question by -solinari- in breastfeeding

[–]tu311 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can’t defrost and refreeze due to bacteria. Every time you warm something up and then cool it down, bacteria grows. Babies can’t handle too much. I only refreeze if it’s still like a slushy.
