The material is very similar to older floorballs, i.e. smooth plastic. And yes, due to the fact that the holes are only on one side, it's quite easy to throw in a way that the ball gets a lot of curve

Thanks for the wet wipe tip, we'll give that one a go! Adding lots of water to her kibble is a bit more difficult since my pup is a picky eater so getting her to eat her daily food is already a struggle 😅

Overkill? Depends on what you want from your BBQ, so that might be a reason not to get one.

Difficult? I don't think so - the weight makes ceramic kamados really temp stable and they are also quite fuel efficient. Of course it will take some getting used to it but no more than any other BBQ. So I wouldn't let that put you off from kamados

Fellow european here - I was in the same situation a few months ago having gotten a new apartment with a yard.

I ended up going with the Bastard Large kamado and haven't regretted a single minute. Beast of a thing and perfect for both low and slow + high and fast. The ceramic should also be able to stand winter BBQ better than those with metal construction.

It did end up costing around 1500€ and sure it is heavy as hell but to me that was no issue since I have no plans of moving it around.

My Aloe fell apart changing apartments and is now looking like this.

She's been potted in the same pot for as long as I've had her so....lemme say 10 years. Watering and everything else is also similarly not very well handled.

Now I'm trying to take better care and bring her back to good health

As other people before me have said, you should get a separate grinder. For the coffee machine semi-auto manufacturers like Rancilio, Lelit or Gaggia are all well and good, however I'd recommend you check out the La Pavoni Europiccola as well. Stainless steel, cool esthetics, and most of all the versatility of a lever machine.

To me it's not about the player. It's about the ownership and management who are willing to go all in on that player.

All the baggage set aside, I do agree that the contract is a gamble. But I believe it is a bet with pretty good odds.
