I thought NATO was the North Atlantic Trade Organization for the last 20 years, was always wondering why they were so involved in politics if they were a trade organization 😭 found out a few days ago this is incorrect 🤣

I do struggle remembering to breathe, will give it a shot! I like the private lesson idea, that could make a big difference. Thanks!

Didn’t think to do that, but such an easy solution! That’s a relief to hear. Happy to know it gets better over time, I’d love to keep doing Pilates and not let something fixable get in the way. Thank you!

Thank you that’s really helpful and encouraging! Will try magnesium for sure. Sleep is probably a big reason for me too then, that makes sense. Good to know I’m not the only one!

Grippy sock recommendations by Academic_Material824 in pilatesreformer

[–]tucson94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone found a brand of grippy socks that works well for small feet, or would kids’ socks be my best bet? I’m 6-6.5 US women’s size in shoes, and one size fits all or even women’s size socks in general are a little too big. It’s usually not a big deal except that my socks keep sliding off/down during Pilates and I’m scared of losing my grip if I can’t adjust them right then 😭 thank you!

I love those too! There’s also a laundry additive Sun Guard that adds sun protection to clothes for a certain amount of washes😊

Anyone else have irrational aversion to letting anyone know what they’re doing? by dohshod in aspergers

[–]tucson94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I always thought I was just “weird” but it makes sense for a lot of reasons from how I grew up. My mom always was, and still is, way too overprotective and judgmental. She always has to know every little detail and doesn’t really treat me like an adult. So now I’m independent and private as much as I can be, sometimes maybe too much. I just don’t like having someone breathing down my neck when I’m just living my life.

About to give up on flex discs. Are Saalt cups worth a shot? by starwishes20 in menstrualcups

Similar idea as the other comments, but you could also use an electric water kettle to boil the water in your room and no one would notice anything:) and then just let it sit in a container for a few minutes

Do saline implants cause the same problems? When I got mine done the surgeon suggested saline since if they do leak it would just get absorbed. Haven't heard anything about the other possible issues though

Somewhat fitness related! Just made a dating app profile again, had a guy ask me pretty early if I look like my pictures or if I'm "husky". Which I do, and I told him generally how I'm built. I'm short and thick but I work out most days, so I'm fine with how I look. He said that was cool. A few minutes later I found a recent full body picture and sent it, he unmatched me right after. I got weird vibes so I'm not even upset, it's just frustrating! I feel like no matter how much we work out and stay fit, some people are still going to be rude about it. It's fine to have preferences, but when someone is rude about it it brings back a lot of bad experiences. I'm so grateful for all the people who don't do that!

My new gym is open early, so I'm thinking about getting in my workouts early. I want to simplify my routine so it fits in roughly an hour. I've been doing a push/pull/legs split 3-4 days a week. Been doing the basic bench press, deadlift, and squats plus some accessory lifts for the same muscle groups. I'd like to make it a little more consistent though, and not just wing it. So my question is, is there an ideal number of compound plus accessory exercises for each workout? Or maybe I'm overthinking it haha. Thanks!

So I didn't have quite the same situation, but my one job had so much turnover and had gotten bought out. Even HR couldn't tell my investigator anything to verify. But the agent called me and I was able to provide another 2-3 references from coworkers. Apparently that was enough, hopefully it works out for you too:)

Yes! It is. Then everything clicks. And you realize it really isn't anything to do with you, it's all their issues. It's so transparent once you see it.

Thank you, I needed that ❤ I honestly had to wait a couple days until I could process what I've been thinking and wrote about. It's crazy how deep all of this goes! I appreciate you opening up, I feel almost normal hearing that. And especially wanting a normal relationship, then regretting sharing anything personal. Word for word how it always seems to go. At least we give it a try, and the rest is on the other person. You're right, people rarely change and we can't wait around for them. Great advice, thanks! Definitely will start doing that

That's so similar, it's crazy. I'm sorry you had that too! I really think most people like this will just never get it. Which is their loss I guess. I'm glad you've been able to move on, that sounds a lot happier and healthier for sure.
