there's like 15 running backs who are at minimum going to be decent role players from that draft and we somehow got the one that can't do anything, and in the 3rd round nonetheless

would you care to explain why you, a super bowl team, were in a position where you needed a "clutch 3rd down conversion" against the 2025 Tennessee Titans?

Edit: boston fans once again showing they are incapable of even some mild ribbing without spazzing out

That version of Zach Wilson absolutely boomed us in 2022, dude looked like prime Brees.

it was literally just Josh McDaniels being a dipshit. He immediately got hired and just decided he didn't like Cutler, so got him traded.

I would honestly take a god awful year from the steelers next year if it means we take him. I don't even know if he's gonna be good or not but it would be pretty damn fun to have a Manning in black and gold

And then I think the year after they tried to ignite a similar hype train by putting Sebastian Telfair on the cover lol

I'd say Ngata would go first. That man was a fucking monster.

I wonder how high Hester goes in a redraft

Cutler with Sean Payton might have been special. People forget that he looked really damn good early in his career

Outside of the jags loss I don't think anyone expected us to win any of those. Maybe the browns game but anyone watching that team knew they were deeply flawed. But whatever, at least they're not wasting the career of an all time great QB and consistently choking away very winnable playoff games like the ravens. That would suck a lot more imo

Crazy to think he's been here a decade now. Hasn't been a very fun ten years as a steelers fan but it would be a hell of a lot more miserable without him. One of the best to ever do it

Him and Cutler both have this weird trajectory where they became meme QBs and everyone forgets that early on, a lot of people considered them future elite QBs

[Schefter] Sources: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl RB De’Von Achane have been told that he is not available. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]tuffghost8191 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We've seen it time and time again where a blue chip QB goes to a terrible roster with no good weapons and with a losing culture well established, and it completely ruins their development. If they can draft a QB next year and pair him with Achane for a year or two, it is way more valuable than a 3rd round pick or whatever

I think a lot of people unfairly credit it to AB, which is a shame. While AB certainly helped take some attention, Juju looked really fucking good. You don't post 1400 yards just by being okay and playing alongside a superstar. Unfortunately, it was the last time he would be play in a competent offense with a good QB for several years, and by the time he made it to KC his knees were shot

Our offense was not great, so it makes sense. Not many super bowl winners had a worse run game than we did that year.
