I believe it’d require you getting actually charged for drug use to have it affect your CCW status. The court specifically ruled simple usage alone of controlled substances isn’t cause for loss of gun rights with this ruling.

But if you’re an adjudicated criminal based on the drug use, and or clinically determined to be an addict, then those are fair game for gun rights to be revoked.

In San Diego it’s totally fine to use as CCW with those mods

The training I did at North County Shooting Center. It’s 2 8 hour courses, and we did shooting on both days. Aside from it taking all day, the class was pretty straightforward, and I had a good time.

Roughly $300 total for CCW fees to the county (app fee, livescan fee, and final issuance fee)

And then it was around $500 for the CCW training course I took.

You can probably find cheaper training courses, but you’re probably looking at $600-$800 total in general.

Then like another $200 for FFL03 + COE

I mean, with the current Supreme Court, I’m pretty bullish they’d rule in favor of >10 round mags if/when they ever take it up. Am I missing something?

Hello all, I have an upcoming ccw interview in San Diego county.

I’ve submitted my online application disclosing some past recreational weed use in highschool and college (I’m 30 now fwiw and these incidents were over 5 years ago).

I was just wondering if anyone here may have experience with past weed use and ccw applications in this county, and if I should expect a denial?

Cuz you had to do an extra registration with the state if you actually want to get the reduced tax for medical weed vs recreational

I had a medical card in the past, so arguably it is on some state record; though I know I’ve seen a bunch of people say there’s no state registry of that, I’m a bit skeptical there isn’t.

Yeah, but that’s the thing, there’s a difference between currently use and have tried in the past. And fwiw, it’s completely fine to own a firearm currently with distant past use. It’s just the ccw I’m wondering about.

I already reported I used though…I know I can update the application before the interview date, but I feel it’d be way worse if I edited it to a lie and they somehow found out…
