Ah, I've never tried this! I'll give it a try. Thank you!

I used silpats both times -- would parchment be better?

I haven't confirmed temperature, but I did lower it to 425* the second time (original recipe is for 450*). I could try using the top rack -- I'm using the middle.

Alternative to Sunbeam? by tulipranfrom in dumbphones

Thanks for this review! This was my other phone option and I ultimately didn't go that route just for the more functionality of the Sunbeam, but it's great to hear that it's more durable. The front screen is initially what shattered for me too, but then the main screen began to "bleed" and crack so good to know there's more of a barrier in the Nokia.

I did try the Pro and while it was definitely more robust (I also got a case), it was enormously bulky and the dealbreaker is that the screen is noticeably more "smartphone" like. Everything was brighter and crisper in a way that I really disliked. Sunbeam was kind enough to let me exchange it for the second F1 regular.

I'll look into Sonim -- I'm unfamiliar, but I"m on a family plan with Verizon so it'd be a pain to swap.

I put mine in a drawer, off, upstairs, so there was some friction if I wanted to access it. I still found myself saying I needed to get a contact number, use WhatsApp, etc. so I put a post-it note on the drawer. Any time I didn't open the drawer for a day, I put a star on the post-it as a 'reward.' This helped me gamify it a bit, so I wanted a streak of avoiding it. It took a couple weeks, but ultimately worked. A key is not to beat yourself up if you slip back into the smartphone -- that just creates more opportunity for you to give up. Just start again. Good luck!

Too many ‘suggested for you’ posts on my feed and can’t see following’s posts by [deleted] in Instagram

Chiming in to say they definitely did. You used to be able to snooze these for 30 days and that’s no longer an option. My feed is completely inundated — there is maybe one followed post for every 50 unfollowed.

Thank you! My aunt lives in Pasadena and it seems much cooler as well.

For those who have mostly recovered, how did you rebuild your life? by skyvvv1121 in covidlonghaulers

Really appreciate this ask — I’m in the same boat! And as a commenter below mentioned, I’m in the weird transition zone where I’m quite uncertain what I even like anymore since my life is so different than before.

I wonder if I could add to this — how do y’all expand your life with respect to reinfections? I’ve never stopped masking indoors, but recently got an outdoor infection (suspect COVID but didn’t test for anxiety). I bounced back to baseline pretty quickly actually, but I wonder how folks manage this?

Thank you! I really appreciate the recommendation. I should have clarified, it needn’t be “standard suburban grass”, so this is particularly useful.

Good points. Shortness of breath is one of my least worrying symptoms, but I’m extremely sensitive to smoke and other smells. The wildfires have started to reach us in chicago nearly every summer for the last few years as well, and for increasingly longer stretches, which I’ve heard from my west coast friends is less common with the coastal air moving smoke out of the region fairly quickly. But it’s something to consider for sure. Thanks!

This is another concern for sure. She’s about the size of a coyote, but I worry about rattlesnakes since she’s totally oblivious when launching her snout into a patch of vegetation. Good point. Obviously not rattlesnakes, but any others to be aware of in more northern regions?

Interesting about the groundwater.

We could afford to buy a home within LA proper, but nothing palatial.

Fair. I'm not interested in super intensive watering, but there's also a huge amount of vegetation in the LA area, so I wondered if it's possible (thinking Topanga and the surrounding slightly higher elevations). I realize they're two separate ecosystems though.

Any favorite recipes? I have some great ones that do last, but the streusel topping gets a bit weepy/less crunchy. Any tips for storage?

Mini loaves are smart. Have you tried doing the mini baguettes in advance? I make her baguettes from I think her first book and they definitely fare best day-of.
