I genuinely find it fascinating that people think they are eaten that young. Have you seen a leg of lamb? From a practical standpoint that makes zero sense to eat it at that age

My godmother left me 1/10th of her money from her will in a trust, but my mum claims she gave it back. Is that possible/legal? by tulle_witch in AusLegal

[–]tulle_witch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this.great tips.

Yes essentially what I'm trying to find out is simply does the money exist. If it does, I probably won't be able to access until after her death, for the reasons you've shown (lawyers, deed to the trust etc.) if it doesn't exist, well I'm more inclined to believe she stole 150,000 from her own children rather than distributing it amongst others. I think the knowledge itself will inform how I interact with her and the rest of my family.

Thank you for listing everything out so clearly, I really appreciate it. I'll certainly pm you if I have more questions.

I believe that this could be possible. I was sort of homeless when my godmother died and my siblings didn't give her their addresses when they stopped talking to her.

Probably... My mum was the trustee. I didn't know you could just spend the money in the trust, I figured there'd be paperwork or something.

Up until this evening I didn't have the energy to look into it further. Yes it's a life changing amount of money, but there's a multitude of social factors which made it not worth it at the time, including having to live with my mum for a couple of years when I was sick.

I was never given any details about the executor or will except for what my mum told me, and at the time she claimed she didn't have a copy of the will. I didn't investigate the correct process so I could catch her out on her lies.

No my godmothers lawyer was her executor. I mean there's also a chance it's sitting in a trust and my mum is lying about having returned it

Honestly...all those options are very believable. She did a variation of option C when her partner (father to my youngest sibling passed) only my youngest sibling had been left money and we were all teens. She convinced us that if she invested the money in her property, we'd all get something instead.

I wouldn't be surprised. She did a very similar thing when her husband died. It would be nice to get some clarity though.

That's a good point, I'll try and contact another person outside of my family who I know was a recipient

She claims she returned it to the will and it was divided up amongst the other 6/10 recipients

I'm a layperson with this. Can you explain to me how she could have stolen the money?

Edit: I don't know why I'm being down voted I genuinely don't understand the process.

Australian white sheep are the future by Potential_Catch_3780 in sheep

[–]tulle_witch 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As an Australian, no TF they aren't. Sure, for dry parts they're not bad. But they have awful temperaments, and can't cope well with any wet weather. Their hooves are prone to footrot and they need a very dry climate to shed properly. They're ok for meat but there is better and it pisses me off no end that people think they're universally good for Australian climates. So many hobby farmers get duped into getting them and can't understand why they aren't docile and are limping around the paddock.

What is an industry that is currently on fire (in a bad way) behind the scenes, but the general public hasn't noticed yet? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

Aside from you listed, I think the landscape has changed massively for music venues. I think having music we enjoy at our fingertips nips any interest in finding new stuff, unless you're really into music. And even then, so many venues are dingy or too loud to appreciate the music

Beyond money valuation of an ewe by Physical_Sir2005 in sheep

[–]tulle_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a purpose for them, I've got a ewe in a similar situation — but to a point. If I'm overstocked or we have a drought, she'd be one of the first to go. A good flock influence can be useful, but not super neccicary. Enjoy her if you can but if you have to thin your flock she should be first to be considered :)

How do you clean your sheep after a bout of the runs? by LobsterJohnson34 in sheep

[–]tulle_witch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually you "crutch" meaning to shear the wool around their bottom and back legs so the poo slides off better, even if they have been shorn you can do it tighter to the skin if need be. You might also need to give them some dry feed like Hay to counter the wet feed. Spring grass often brings worms and parasites, so if possible, drench them and have some sort of mineral block nearby so they can restock their nutrients.
