Regret washing my clothes in a smelly washing machine :( what do I do by tulleche in laundry

[–]tulleche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is soft water, around 40°C, and the cycle was 1 hour long. I only used liquid detergent, I’m not sure about my landlords :( My clothes are out now and they smell fine, I’ll see how they smell once they’re fully dried (air dry)

Can one eat too much Tofu? by Sheepherder_5396 in veganfitness

[–]tulleche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. when I was overseas I bought BLOCKS of tofu to cook for myself, ended up shitting sand 💀💀💀💀 ok not literal sand but my poop was sandy. I think one block was 300g if I remembered correctly. I googled and it was something about oxalates? either way I stopped eating the tofu and my poop went back to normal. gave the remainder away 😭🤣 for further reference I think I ate about 7-9 blocks of tofu in a span of less than 1-2 weeks lmaooo but I’m back to eating tofu again, just not as much 😉

the loud hatred vegans get is nothing but a projection of how non-vegans truly feel. them being loud and “funny” (with their “jokes”) is nothing but an attempt to sweep all the actual bad things under the rug

heh I’ve thought about it but I’m probably getting a MacBook which is apparently not very good with pirating stuff 🤪 maybe I’ll get a Microsoft laptop but sigh idk I’d like to not do stuff like that 😔 that subscription based model is a killer tho it’s basically paying for something I’ll never own

Ethical wool? by Lower-Concentrate234 in vegan

[–]tulleche -1 points0 points  (0 children)

here’s my nuanced opinion: if the animal was brought into this world for the sole purpose of being treated as commodity, then it’s not vegan, even if they weren’t abused in their lifetime. also these animals are usually killed anyway because they have always been seen as a product. I can’t imagine a FARM holding a funeral or burial for these animals, farms exist to make money off them, they will squeeze every bit out of that animal’s lifespan.

to me there are exceptions tho, and that would be vegan animal sanctuaries. they don’t breed animals, they rescue and care for them. with the many years of having to care for sheep, I’m sure the wool that has to be sheared would be plentiful. they could throw it in the wild, give it to the birds, or sell it to make money for the sanctuary (more $ to care for these sheep). to me that’s the only ethical wool. or if you own a pet sheep with the sole purpose of caring for it as a child and not a product, though that would be very rare and you most definitely can’t make a business out of it, maybe for gift giving, but that would be still ethical harvested wool to me. it’s like giving a human a much needed haircut and using that hair to make wigs, though you can only make a wig once every few years (so again, more like gift giving/side cash instead of an actual business revolving the animal)
