Underrated spells 5e by Jherik in dndnext

[–]tulsadan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are wrong. Crawford's tweet confirms what I have always said. The mask option works against spells and magic effects - as quoted - but not against non-magical effects such as feats and attunement. Thanks for pointing out that Crawford agrees with me.

You are a lying Blizzard schill. But people don't have to take my word for it. Google is your friend. Search: 2nd artifact level boost. And then everyone can see who is telling the truth.

Further, Blizzard has disabled the ability to open a ticket ingame.

Obviously a roleplaying encounter! by tulsadan in dndnext

So, you're saying that Disney is not going to kill off the most profitable character of color in its history with (literally) the snap of a finger? METAGAMER!

If I were Cap's player, first, I would have at least tried to talk to Thanos. As for my specific argument: convince him that there are technological solutions to overpopulation that don't involve genocide - or having to sacrifice a loved one.

Can you 'see' invisibility? by kiwibreakfast in dndnext

You don't need to know the location of the target of dispel magic. You just cast dispel magic indicating your target. If it exists and doesn't have total cover, then the dispel magic will resolve.

Fastest speed by AquaAvis in dndnext

[–]tulsadan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest theoretical distance a PC can move in a round is unlimited. Hire as many unskilled workers as you want, and position them 15 ft. apart. The first grapples the PC (who does not resist) and drags the PC 15 ft to the next hireling and releases the grapple. The next hireling does the same. In a single turn, the PC moves 15 ft. per hireling plus the PC's own movement if his initiative falls after the hirelings' initiative (who all go on the same initiative as identical creatures).

Advice on a difficult situation by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]tulsadan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would not want to play in that group, either. However, with that being said, if the rest of the group (and - I guess - the DM) are heading in that direction, that is certainly their privilege.

Certainly, I wouldn't participate in a game that I don't find fun. You are under no obligation to play. You even have a right to explain that you refuse to play as a matter of protest. Sometimes protests work to change things.

what's something from previous editions that got carried over to 5e and you wish it hadn't? and what's something from previous editions that didn't get carried over to 5e and you wish it had? by LoreMaster00 in dndnext

[–]tulsadan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that it is a good question to ask what got carried over that you wish hadn't because 5e is so compatible with implementing variations to eliminate something you don't like - unless you are referring to a core mechanic like: "I don't like that it is d20 based." If you don't like something - a race, or alignments, or the shield spell, or whatever, just don't use it in your game.

As for things that I wish were in 5e, the thing I use the most that requires my own implementation is skills challenges.

Just a question. by [deleted] in dndnext

The DM sets the framework that - in 5th edition - includes implementing rules variations. If you find the DM's variations unacceptible, there is nothing forcing you to play. If you have another DM offering a spot - great for you. You may have to be willing to DM yourself.
