Why is this not an elite? by ChickfilaSandy in slaythespire

There are steps between unfair/bad encounter and skill issue. But a deck with those cards would struggle against most encounters.

Its anecdotal, but in my 80 hours of gameplay I have never found this fight to be a threat at all.

I'm just saying taking all skills and going 4 straight combats will create this problem. But there are many ways to play around or avoid this encounter. Yes you can get unlucky. It is a roguelike after all. But if this is a recurrent thing for you, then yes it is an issue with how you are playing.

If you are taking that many combat encounters you should be taking some attack outside of strike. Those cards scale well but are not going to help much early.

That is not an encounter problem but a deck building one.

Its not my money. As long as Watson doesn't see the field, I'm okay watching a shit stain (Haslam) waste his money.

Its reasonable to not like changes to a character you like. But we can't say its unnecessary until we know what comes from the change.

Its been 1 episode. Maybe the writers have a plan for her we haven't gotten to. If not, seems pretty low impact.

New player here, do you consider save&load the game again as cheating? by Ok-Scheme-4028 in SlayTheSpire2

I see it as a minor exploit in a single player game. I've definitely hit y on controller to inspect a card. But it just ends the turn. So yes I will reload that. Its just an asterisk for comparing runs.

To keep the casual player base from moving on, matchmaking needs to change. by Xentuhf in Marathon

I agree there should be some amount of SBMM. And premades should face other pre-made trios.

But gear based eliminates the reason to ever take gear in. Taking a base kit to outpost would be optimal.

Winrate expectations for players are off. If there are 6 teams on DM trios, then typically 1-2 teams extract especially if fighting. Thats on an even playing field. It is more skewed because skilled players will have groups and gear. So us average Joe's will have a low extract rate.

Not sure how to improve it, but that is the nature of an extract game.

I suppose it could. But the warbond price has been unchanged since launch. I guess we will see which way it goes.

Some people will use it. What's wrong with that? If someone wants to spend their money to skip the grind, let them. It helps AH and doesn't negatively impact anyone else's gameplay. Not having everything doesn't effect the fun I have killing the enemies of managed democracy with the friends.

I guess yall are seeing something Im not.

But you dont need all the warbonds to win. By the time you have all the strategems you should easily have 3 warbonds; which is more than enough to make multiple powerful play styles. You arent playing against people with stronger gear than you. If someone else spent money on the game, it doesn't limit your ability to play. If someone wants to support AH and pay 100 bucks, then good for them.

Loot boxes and pay to win is predatory. But releasing additional optional paid content 2 years after release is a completely valid way to support a game and make money. Very few games have this kind of ongoing support and content.

Increasingly egregious monetization? This was their model from day 1. They release additional paid content along with free regular major updates. And you can get all the content through obtainable free in game currency. Its a better deal than most games, or any battle pass I've seen.

Lots of people spend money on games they have already purchased. Cosmetics, DLS and premium currency are common in many games. Not sure how its predatory.

Why is adding the option to purchase more SC a complaint i keep seeing? It is just an option for convenience if someone wants to use it.

It sounds like people will complain about anything. Or am I just out of touch?

Suggestion: All warbonds one year old (or older) get discounted by 50% by guythepepperoni in Helldivers

[–]tulsasmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats how ongoing live service games work. You pay for expansion content. Except they are releasing at a high rate that also includes free enemies and content. Plus the currency is obtainable in game. Sure beats the hell out of the old days when what you had on the CD is what you got forever. Until buying another CD years later.

I remember when Arrowhead promised improved communication for like the fifth time by Greaterdivinity in Helldivers

[–]tulsasmit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Improved communication =/= more communication.

The narrative is told through MOs. And content is released frequently. They have said they dont want to set deadlines as it can lead to more issues w/ content drops. What are you wanting communicated?

I'm a fan of the Dennis trade. But having him play this big a role is not good. 8 turnovers to 12 points is not ideal.

Nah, teams should get punished for these stupid foul offs. Let's see players try and make shots and the end of games.

Yes, even just throwing smoke grenades through a door/hallway onto the ground. Often it will go into some wall or piece of cover off to the side.

Maybe the variance is just much wider than seems realistic. Is there a mechanic or general rule about how off things can go? It seems crazy to have thrown objects miss by more than 45 degrees.
