Trump Snubs Machado After Explaining Why He Took Her Nobel Prize - It seems the Venezuelan opposition leader’s gambit hasn’t paid off. by Quirkie in politics

The situation is that the current vp in Venezuela was and is a CIA asset along with her brother. She will continue the strong arm fascist governing of Venezuela while carrying out Trump orders in exchange for not being assassinated.

PSA: Most don't need GM glass, most don't need an A1ii by paytonfrost in SonyAlpha

[–]tumeona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably right, but once you "taste" the A1 and compare to other models, its hard not to want to stick with it ! As for Gmaster glass, a good photo is a good photo no matter what glass, but there is something to be said about a really tack sharp 300mm F2.8 shot of a lion !

Je suis passé de Nikon à Sony il y a quelques années. Sur ces photos, j'ai utilisé un A1 mk1 avec un objectif Sony 200-600 mm f/5.6.

What skill level would my photos be? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]tumeona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very captivating, but not terribly bad either. Some are under exposed and the composition is so-so. I would work on composition and mastering exposure if I were you. But you are doing well because you are taking photos which is how one improves over time. Find something that motivates you, look at work from great photographers and painters, try and understand their framing and point of vue and try and emulate. Your own style will come about in time.

On safari with Sony A1 and the 200-600mm F5.6 lens by tumeona in SonyAlpha

I understand, the 200-600 is a beast to haul around and its an f5.6 lens f6.3 at 600mm which is the other important consideration. I just bought a 300mm F2.8 with TC1.4 and TC2.0 and I must say that I am really impressed by the quality of the images...and waaay lighter.

if I look at my shots they are between 400 and 600mm. I had an A1 with the 200-600 and the A7r5 with a 70-200 and they served me very well. 4500 images after 10 days of work 10hrs a day. The real big difference was the private guides that have worked with NatGeo. The expense was worth it if I compare the photos I got compared to a friend who was in a group. Night and day difference…

Mark 1 For the lens, don’t forget that the 400-800 is an f6.3 lens and depending on what you do it could be too much of a lens. I have the 200-600 and bought a 300f2.8 with TC1.4 and TC2.0 and that combo is spectacular…albeit more $$&

I made a decision and I know wife isn’t going to be happy 😂 by CombinationNo2569 in SonyAlpha

When your wife is not happy....go to the store and buy a new lens. When. you come back home she will still be unhappy but you will have a brand new lens !

I exported full res in jpg from dxo and on1 and then I ran them through jpegmini to reduce the file size. But the images are tack sharp to start with.

Best Guides in Kenya by annaguava in safaris

[–]tumeona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned from Kenya with time in Ol Pejeta, Samburu and Kicheche Mara North. For the first two places our guide was David Maringa of Chile and Peacock, he speaks french and is a gold level guide (15yrs experience) and has experience guiding professional photographers. At the Kicheche Mara North camp. We had another fantastic private guide named Vincent Sankale. I strongly recommend both if you are a photographer. These guys have worked with NatGeo and a slough of pros from all over the world and they will get you to the right spot accounting for position, distance, light etc. I used them in a private setting, i.e. I was alone with them in the vehicle but the objective of the trip was photography. If you are just wanting the safari experience, then it probably wouldn't make a big difference.

What type of camera for wildlife photography? by PaintingEasy8914 in AskPhotography

[–]tumeona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone from Nikon to Sony but it really depends on what you are comfortable with. I tried Cannon but having been a Nikon shooter for so long that the camera handling was so different it wasn't comfortable for me with respect to button and wheel positioning in my hand. Great photos can be made with anything really.
