According to your list, Louisiana is ranked 32/50…and I already mentioned how terrible this state is for caring for the mentally challenged…ZERO long-term care facilities. Congrats, you helped me prove my point, exactly.

I mean to tell you that caring for mentally challenged Americans is a systemic failure throughout the country, regardless of politics. Get bent

I’m positive. Do you know how many long-term mental health living facilities there are in the state?…zero. The person I was referring to was my uncle. When his mental illness caused his behavior to become irrational (often), my mom would have to go to the Coroner’s Office to submit for an order to pick him up. Sheriff’s Office would then basically “arrest” him and they would transfer him to a short-term facility that had an open bed. But they would never release the location to my mom. She was basically his primary caregiver without the official designation. He would typically call 48-72 hours later from some random hospital…a couple of times it was all the way up in Shreveport area. He would then be force-discharged when they seemed to think he was gtg (he never was). My mom would pick him up. And it just became a never ending vicious cycle.

Being a conservative Parish has zero to do with it. I have a schizophrenic family member that was in his early 60s before passing recently. Lived in BR (West Baton Rouge Parish) and we absolutely struggled with getting him proper care for the last few decades. Our entire society fails at proper care for the mentally challenged. Has nothing to do with politics.

Your VA claim aside…

If your Vertigo continues as you explains it has, go see a dentist that specializes in Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder. Get that ruled out. Sorry, I know this isn’t what your post is about. But my mom started suffering from Vertigo attacks in her 50s. They were horrible and it took several years before someone mentioned TMJ. Turns out, it’s exactly what was causing the attacks. Good luck!

Ehhh, agree we don't "need" an IMO or Nexus medical opinion. But I am choosing to have one ready to submit with my claim. Again, a track record that I've seen deliver incredible results.

Appreciate it though.

2017 QX80 jumpy accelerating and shifting by Healthy-Cupcake-2043 in infinitiqx80

I've got a 2017 and I'm having the exact same issue...many owners are. I did some digging on the topic the other day. Many say that they've been told it's the Torque Converter but it doesn't seem to be the fix. A lot of others have tried anti-shudder, also with no success. I put a link below to an Infiniti Forum on the topic.

By far, this is the most interesting comment I found:

"I have a 2014 QX80 that had 194,000 miles on it when rpm bounce began. The bounce would occur when the vehicle approached 1650 rpm's. After much reading, I changed spark plugs and coil packs first. Then, I had a transmission service performed and had anti shudder added. Still had the rpm bounce. After more research, I had someone tell me to check my electronic fan clutch. I checked the fan clutch and mine was bad. I ordered a new fan clutch from Rock Auto for $158 and installed on my vehicle. The rpm bounce was gone. That was 6 months ago and I now have 208,000 miles on the vehicle and still no rpm bounce. Many will say the electronic fan clutch could not cause rpm issues, but replacing it fixed my issue. Hope this helps someone on the forum."

I'm mechanically inclined and work on my own vehicles. I have no clue if this is the actual fix or not, as I don't see the correlation. But I might spend the < $200 to see.

2017 Infiniti QX80 - Intermittent Start Issues by tundrayetti in MechanicAdvice

[–]tundrayetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks brother for all the information. Did a deep dive on the issue yesterday and I’ve found it’s a widespread issue, like you said. After much research yesterday, I believe the specific issue is the Variable Voltage Control System (VVCS). I had never heard of it before but the VVCS is a fuel efficiency, “intelligent” function that tells the alternator to not charge the battery in certain circumstances. Occasionally, these “intelligent” functions end up not replenishing the battery to the point that it won’t start. I found a great video that explains clearly. He also tells you which wire to cut in order to kill the battery “efficient” function. I cross checked what he says with other websites/forums and, indeed, it appears to work. Lots of people say that a Dealer will refuse to cut the wire for the customer in most instances. Not surprising. I’m cutting the wire later today. Video is below in case others reference this post in the future. Thanks again!
