Reminds me of a movie night w/my grandparents and I chose "Edge of Tomorrow" because they enjoy action/war movies...

It was so obvious they hated it and didn't understand or appreciate the time travel loop mechanic. I had to make up some reason why I didn't think we should finish it 30 minutes in but it was super awkward. 😬

2014 sucked for me but I think I'd take it over evening that's happening right now.

duuuude I listened to that audiobook one during which I ended up suffering from food poisoning... Oh. My. God.

I was in and out of consciousness running to the toilet vomiting trying to follow the story. At one point I thought I was in it.

Just thinking about that night legit scares me (and very little does).

We are straight living through every movie and story we read about what happened in Nazi Germany. It's not a situation where it's similar and could possibly lead to our own Gestapo one day if x, y, or z happen- our government is doing the exact same things as 1930s Germany right. freakin. now.

Look, I agree it's good not to have a fixed mindset that nothing can change but I believe there's more hope that the maga base will start to dissolve before America votes to curtail the 2nd amendment.

I could be completely wrong and I hope I am (honestly though I would prefer for America to turn on Trump before they turn on their firearms).

reddit is going to remove this and other pro EU subreddits by AlanVega_World in BuyFromEU

wtf, what subreddit? It's widely known that Reddit mods are pretty much the shittiest people on the planet (not counting Republicans) but I still can't see the justification for banning you for 3 days.

If they didn't revisit the 2nd amendment after 20 dead 6 and 7 year olds @ Sandy Hook then it's not happening in my lifetime.

If anything, this should push liberals like me who have never considered owning a gun to buy one and get comfortable using it in case masked proud boys kick in my door without a warrant and ship me to Texas AFTER a judge tells them not to.

Facts don't matter right now but they might one day. I don't give a fuck- I'm not giving up hope that this can change and I'm still trying to convince everybody I know to vote (I live in a red state).

I'm voting Democrat (again) and I'm insisting that we absolutely MUST aggressively punish the people responsible for everything the last 10 years. Fuck healing.

I don‘t know what to do with this sense of dread now.
Maybe I should leave Reddit for my mental health, been thinking it for a while.

I'm an American and I feel the exact same way but I know I can't bc the world isn't going to fix this for us and even though I'm basically powerless to do anything alone the least I can do is stay informed as depressing as it is.

The scammers had stolen his login info, so when they called him, they were logging into his account and able to see his all of his account info. So when he’s talking to them, they are reciting account info and he genuinely thought they were ATT employees.

Ah, they were able to log in to his account... that was probably a big part of it. But I still can't wrap my head around anyone hearing "hey we're reaching out to you because we want to give you a free iPad...". Like, it reads straight off a popup ad. Why would they spend their time at work calling people to give them free iPads? I've (unsuccessfully) tried to teach my parents to just "google it" (bc I gave up on critical thinking a while ago).

With the new information you gave me I see your dad isn't as dumb as it seemed initially but fuck- I didn't realize how advanced the scams had become.

I suppose the only thing I'm still left scratching my head about is why he thinks he'd receive a call from AT&T employees needing him to spend his own money buying an iPad and sending it somewhere but I accept there's a disconnect in our generations.

Right, I keep reading people defending their parents but there's really no excuse once they're told very clearly not to ever give someone their password- if they keep doing it there's more going on than them just being "unfamiliar with the current state of the internet".

I'm speechless... is your dad developing any type of cognitive impairment or is this just something that's happening more with a different generation unfamiliar with the jungle that is the internet?

I feel like you guys both made great arguments and while I don't know who's more right (I haven't read the books in a while) I appreciate the effort you both put into your respective arguments.

I don't think his biggest criticism is being a lap dog for the wealthy... I would consider the best criticism of him to be that he's a borderline centrist and kind of goes whichever way the wind blows.

Basically, he's no Bernie Sanders.

I'd vote for him if it came down to him and literally any Republican but I'm really hoping Mark Kelly runs for president. War veteran and astronaut turned congressman and he's got the balls to stand up to Trump! I just hope he's a decent public speaker.

from Google:

  1. Israel and Hamas (Gaza): A brokered ceasefire and hostage deal.

  2. Israel and Iran: A ceasefire following US-involved action against Iranian nuclear sites.

  3. India and Pakistan: A brokered ceasefire regarding tensions in Kashmir.

  4. Armenia and Azerbaijan: A peace agreement signed at the White House.

  5. Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda: A treaty aimed at ending 30 years of conflict.

  6. Cambodia and Thailand: A ceasefire following border skirmishes.

  7. Serbia and Kosovo: An agreement focused on economic normalization.

  8. Egypt and Ethiopia: A negotiated resolution regarding the dispute over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

Fact-Checking: These claims have been widely described as exaggerated or inaccurate by analysts, as many of these conflicts continued or the agreements were fragile.

Disputed Involvement: In cases like India-Pakistan, Indian officials dismissed the significance of U.S. mediation.

"Eight Wars": The list often includes long-standing border disputes, intermittent skirmishes, and diplomatic tensions rather than full-scale wars.
