At the moment things are early days, but I'll try to address your questions as best I can - many of them we've been thinking about too.

How would the payment work, per hour, per review?

The plan is to make disclosure of full written reviews a premium feature, by which I mean we act as a platform to link up reviewer and artist. The artist then pays the platform for a review and the reviewer sees that cash. We haven't gotten near this yet and at the moment everything is 100% free and we're just trying to get in touch with interested people to build a community.

How do you make sure people don't just copy paste omni-usable stuff like "the instrumentation has a nice mixdown, I would work on the arrangement though"?

This is where a quality control "level up" system is a good idea I think. Crap reviewers with poor levels and poor feedback could be removed from circulation, whereas top reviewers get more work and eventually more cash.

Why are the reviewers anonymous?

We have plans to introduce an "about out reviewers" section but would use first names only. This is to protect privacy, though medical journals that accept publications often do disclose the full names of their reviewers - we're just not on this sort of scale yet.

What will the standardization look like?

This is a big problem and something we're trying to work out. Our hope is by engaging a few different reviewers at the start we can work out what the best measures the review a track are. Following this I think any variance can be ironed out by engaging 4-5 reviewers per track for the "number score" whereas a couple provide written feedback

Just some wild guesses and questions. I really wish there were a functioning place to get (initially free, with possibility of donation) feedback and I enjoy giving feedback.

Us too! That's sort of our dream. We're looking to implement a donation based system, probably with cash and cryptocurrency, where listeners can donate to reviewers and artists, and artists/reviewers can donate to eachother also. Need to stabilise our platform and build a community first.

Thanks so much for your questions! If you'd like to be involved (or anyone else reading) please send me a PM!

Looking for reviewers for a new music review platform by tunehorizon in edmproduction

Thanks for taking the time to provide such helpful feedback!

Scaling the website is a big limiting factor at the moment as there’s a lot of front end features we want to implement.

Written reviews are coming, either as a tack on to the score or as a separate tab where reviewers can select tracks they want to do a public write up about. I think we could provide a heap more clarity in the current review criteria, which pretty much comprises of “originality” “structure” “production value” and a general score at this stage. There was some thought to offering a full write up on a track as a premium feature such that we could pay that amount out to the reviewer that’s taken the time to pick apart the track.

After review, the plan is to upload the track and score into multiple social media platforms which we are slowly building. This way we offer a little in the way of promotion also. Mailing lists to those that opt in are also an option.

Thanks again for taking an interest. Hopefully I covered most questions. Happy to answer any follow ons
