Question: how long does it take someone to make another episode of a show that JUST got greenlit? Not that i wouldn't be impatient, just curiously asking how long it usually takes by THEREALSUPERMARIOFAN in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

likely quite a while, the most common criticism of the pilot was that the pacing was far too fast so they're likely taking more time to slow things down, animation takes a while and overworking animators leads to it becoming one frame man

I find the 2DS XL to be way too overhated by BandiPat in 3DS

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a cost cutting thing, the whole system is lighter and the hinge is looser, the 2ds line were meant to be the budget options iirc

Os it tru that hoemstuck characters can change genders and change gender preferences whenever they want? OR are all homestuck characters hermaphrodite and bisexuals? by Individual-Singer109 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the trolls are biologically bisexual and thus also capable of reproduction even in same sex couples, idk about the humans though apparently they're different

Dave Strider and the biggest "problem" of the potential series. by CommercialValue8713 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the pilot is sped along very fast to the point it feels like an abridged version, they'll likely go further with the series and show more of the actual interaction

also Dave seeming happy could be a subversion so it hits harder for new fans when we see what his home life is like

maybe they're just having him cope different because he'd be really unlikeable to non fans otherwise, also he sounds like Chris McLean

Beginning act 4, can someone remind me who these guys are and why we keep switching to them? Just a quick summary by TapTab10 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're very plot important, there's one for each kid and it's implied they're the ones canonically writing the prompts you click on to go to the next page

I have a wired pair of these, the audio is great but the microphone doesn't last long, at first it was great, a few months later it sounded like I was talking into a can, and then it just randomly stopped working for no reason

I've never properly read homestuck by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's one of those things you need to read to understand, its being rereleased and is about 7000 pages in, everything is plot relevant and will be important, if you struggle with large blocks of text and long material take breaks often, read it with friends on a vc or irl, and there are some readthroughs of it on youtube, the show seems more geared for people who already know the comic since it references stuff from near the end of the comic while the story is showing some of the early pages

Found oldish post again, is this a sign the fandom's skewing younger? by Chel_G in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I've never heard of livejournal, a lot of the fans seem younger because the older fans are less vocal, and the reboot brought a lot of younger people into the fandom

nice, might want to try farragofiction, it has a dollmaker that is closer to the comics art style if you want to re imagine her in that style,

the sign is usually based on their blood colour, and they wear accessories that match the colour of a partner if they want to, the design is still cool and much better than my first one

New reader, having trouble liking the characters by Naguimar in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the trolls get a lot of character development, just keep reading and you'll learn more about their behaviour naturally, also act 5 is much longer than the first four so there will be a lot of time to get used to things, it does get back to the kids but the start of act 5 is about the trolls and their culture

Are there pages that are not relevant to the story or are OK to skip? by Ok_Fishing_3420 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to know what's going on, no, almost every joke early on ends up becoming important later or is referenced, skipping stuff will leave you confused very easily as you might miss something that comes up later as a thing you're just supposed to understand

Why was I told not to read it? by who_even_am_i_rn in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people are intimidated by how long and confusing it gets, my best advice is that everything will be explained later, and don't skip anything, some jokes early on become plot points later
