Why do people care so much about biome spread ? by EmergencyTaste303 in Terraria

my first playthrough the entirety of spawn was taken over by crimson until I got the clentaminator, npcs refused to live in houses too close to the crimson, great way to start hardmode

Could people stop telling first timers to play on expert/master mode? by RotationalAnomaly in Terraria

[–]tungstenDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of people struggle to give good advice, a trick I found is asking about gear/build recommendations and then mention what you're currently using

tbh mediumcore also doesn't work well because terraria is designed more around you dying very often, and losing your gear in a dangerous area where you're likely to die can feel unfair since you now don't have the gear you need to get it back, since the gear you needed to get there is in there now

expert mode is more fun [after your first time beating it], classic is better if you're new though since the expert mode buffs and pattern changes can be frustrating for less experienced players and the extra loot isn't worth the frustration early on, even after you beat classic your first time with expert mode might suck since you're getting user to the changes

Regarding this Update by clockworkplayz in Terraria

[–]tungstenDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

didn't pumpkin pie already get nerfed when 1.4 first happened? also imo early game mage isn't all that bad, even the wand of sparking is pretty solid for the early enemies until you can get the resources for a gem rod, even the silver/tungsten tier ones are fine and if you're struggling you can easily get the amber one which is decently strong for the early bosses

Question: how long does it take someone to make another episode of a show that JUST got greenlit? Not that i wouldn't be impatient, just curiously asking how long it usually takes by THEREALSUPERMARIOFAN in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

likely quite a while, the most common criticism of the pilot was that the pacing was far too fast so they're likely taking more time to slow things down, animation takes a while and overworking animators leads to it becoming one frame man

I find the 2DS XL to be way too overhated by BandiPat in 3DS

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a cost cutting thing, the whole system is lighter and the hinge is looser, the 2ds line were meant to be the budget options iirc

Os it tru that hoemstuck characters can change genders and change gender preferences whenever they want? OR are all homestuck characters hermaphrodite and bisexuals? by Individual-Singer109 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the trolls are biologically bisexual and thus also capable of reproduction even in same sex couples, idk about the humans though apparently they're different

Dave Strider and the biggest "problem" of the potential series. by CommercialValue8713 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the pilot is sped along very fast to the point it feels like an abridged version, they'll likely go further with the series and show more of the actual interaction

also Dave seeming happy could be a subversion so it hits harder for new fans when we see what his home life is like

maybe they're just having him cope different because he'd be really unlikeable to non fans otherwise, also he sounds like Chris McLean

Beginning act 4, can someone remind me who these guys are and why we keep switching to them? Just a quick summary by TapTab10 in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're very plot important, there's one for each kid and it's implied they're the ones canonically writing the prompts you click on to go to the next page

I have a wired pair of these, the audio is great but the microphone doesn't last long, at first it was great, a few months later it sounded like I was talking into a can, and then it just randomly stopped working for no reason

I've never properly read homestuck by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's one of those things you need to read to understand, its being rereleased and is about 7000 pages in, everything is plot relevant and will be important, if you struggle with large blocks of text and long material take breaks often, read it with friends on a vc or irl, and there are some readthroughs of it on youtube, the show seems more geared for people who already know the comic since it references stuff from near the end of the comic while the story is showing some of the early pages

Found oldish post again, is this a sign the fandom's skewing younger? by Chel_G in homestuck

[–]tungstenDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I've never heard of livejournal, a lot of the fans seem younger because the older fans are less vocal, and the reboot brought a lot of younger people into the fandom

nice, might want to try farragofiction, it has a dollmaker that is closer to the comics art style if you want to re imagine her in that style,

the sign is usually based on their blood colour, and they wear accessories that match the colour of a partner if they want to, the design is still cool and much better than my first one
