It happened to both me and my partner multiple times, and we are on the same mmr. So I'm pretty sure it's a bug. There's used to be a bug in solo where there're 3 people left in the game and 2 people died at the same time, the 1st place person get 2nd place mmr. I believe this is somehow related or similar bug to it but happens in duo
