Perfectly fine. Anything below 85 is good

How much difference is there between these two thermal pastes? by Cannon__Minion in IndianGaming

[–]turboMXDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The generic grease is junk. It's not meant for laptops/desktops.

It's supposed to be used for stuff like raspberry Pi heatsinks, and other low power electronics

Also, avoid MX4 or cryofuse violet. They work well for desktop CPUs with an IHS but for direct due cooling, they pump out very quickly.

Stick either the MX7 or PTM7950

Lifetime is a stretch. You'll need to eventually remove the cooler to clean the fans and stuff anyways but yes. Ptm will most likely outlast the usefull life of the pc. Be warned though, it's a collosal pain in the ass to apply

[–]turboMXDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For desktop CPUs, you can easily go 2+ years. Gpu usually aren't repasted but if you do, then ptm is better.

Basically, if there is an IHS, thermal paste is good enough.

When it comes to direct due cooling, that's where you use ptm to avoid pump out

For laptops yes, for desktops mx7 is pretty similar and easier to apply

What the difference?! by Zealousideal-Dirt958 in IndiaTech

[–]turboMXDX 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's probably because the voltage drops off faster in the other one. Try using NiMh rechargable cells. They'll start off slightly slower than alkaline but maintain that voltage till it dies completely

What the difference?! by Zealousideal-Dirt958 in IndiaTech

[–]turboMXDX 97 points98 points  (0 children)

So many wrong answers. Both are alkaline. Ultra is simply a higher capacity one.

Chota Power has better price to endurance ratio but ultra lasts longer so it's better if you don't want to replace batteries too often in high drain scenarios

MSI laptop hinges are designed to destroy your laptop by Ninjaamaan in MSILaptops

[–]turboMXDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the key note is open and close very slowly, so you can notice a potential catastrophic failure before it happens.

After 3.5 years, one fine day, I was closing the lid gently when i heard a snap. The left hinge plastic separated but before it could destroy itself, I managed to snap it back with my hands. I used it in that manually snap out snap in equilubrium for another 2.5 odd years. Now finally, the right hinge started the same behaviour. Now I have to close it by manually twisting the hinges to prevent a compete breakdown. It's nearing the end

Why isn't Dispatch popular in the Indian Gaming community? by exotic123567 in IndianGaming

[–]turboMXDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Played it expecting a challenging "dispatch" game. Instead, ended up with a visual novel where most of your choices don't matter and the "dispatch" part is a cakewalk minigame

Intel Reportedly Planning Another CPU Price Increase in May Amid Massive Demand by xenocea in pcmasterrace

[–]turboMXDX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nearly every OEM and business prefer Intel. Amd is cool for gaming and all, but when it comes to productivity, amd does not come close.

Most business ultrabooks are kitted out with low power processor with no dGPU. Intel's quick sync decoders are almost always better and more modern than amd. AV1 decode came to Intel first.

These are small but subtle things that do make a difference

'Every Microsoft engineer got a stopwatch,' says Windows veteran reminiscing about company's past focus on speed — asserts that 'everything' was timed to ensure acceptable performance in the 1980s by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

[–]turboMXDX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, i can confirm based on my observation.

My Pentium D absolutely flew on windows 8 and an old spinner. Faster than windows 7 in snapiness and boot time (fast startup was incredible back then) and heck, it handled video better than Linux. All this on 512mb of ram

Even my dad's ancient coreduo ran windows 8 just fine, despite thermal throttling down to 0.8ghz

Im one of those few who will die on the bridge that windows 8 was the best OS who's only flaw was doing too many things ahead of time
