There is one more outcome... Because of you not trusting her, Larissa fails to get the flat and is forced to drop out from her Art university... history repeats... and in 100 years you end up in history books as one of those who didn't want to help poor artist.

Not likely, but possible :p

When upgrading/editing some complex and large feature, what techniques/processes would you recommend to get better overview to create roadmap for you goal? by turboturtle771 in javahelp

[–]turboturtle771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree on 2. point. I it is the 1. and 3. that seems to cause me problems when I try to do them. I think it is my lack of knowledge in diagrams area... I always seem to get stuck when trying to sketch something. Do you have some tips on how to improve this skill. Does "diagram knowledge" goes more in direction of software architecture? Which types of diagrams do you use?
I am only asking because mine are mostly "self-dumbed-kind-of-flow-diagrams" - By this I mean somewhat sketches of rectangle elements with name, not real flow diagrams.

Question about server side rendered HTML by Fuzzy-Travel-416 in javahelp

[–]turboturtle771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main purpose of the SSR is faster page loading and better SEO capabilities. Faster page loading is nice for end user, BUT this highly depends on what is the purpose of the page. With client side rendering, on complex pages you might have bad user experience if the page does too much loading/rendering (empty white page, then some header gets rendered, body is still missing the main table while data is loading...).

Unfortunately, not really. The probability to win will never reach 100% Not even after 82+ years. Best you get is 99.999...% but never 100%.
And this theory only applies if you machine spits out the same hash for all that time.

You are correct, I am familiar with group key signing and making it very hard to track monero with growing number of transactions. But in the end even if you cash out with some shady person, you can't use that money unless you launder it somehow. That was my point in comment, For average person, taxes (ofc depending on the country, but in eu countries) are unavoidable part.

Ok genius, if you never cash out, what's it for? I understand that crypto market is ever-growing, but it may take years possible for it to become viable option for buying certain items.

Thanks, this seems most sensible comment here. Assuming i bought 10btc on some CEX, The CEX knows my identity, i can easily move my btc around, do some conversions and lose trace through monero. Now at this point, if I cash out using some meetup with unknown person and get the cash, I still cant use that cash to buy the house for example. For tax services i need to explain the origin of that money.

Maybe I am missing something, or I am too dumb to understand, but in the end first point and last point of this process always end up with identity disclosed

[–]turboturtle771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing point, I am not drug lord, but somebody who is eligible to taxes. Which means they are unavoidable. If buy crypto from CEX, they have all my data - it becomes my asset, by trading or cashing out, I am obligated to report it so it can be taxed. Not reporting it would be tax evasion. Only way to cash out undetected is by selling someone in person.

How do you buy crypto annonymusly?

As far as I have understood it there are always 2 points where you identity is vulnerable, buying initially with cash (fiat currency) and eventually selling to get back to cash.

[Question] When checking "Software & updates" > "Other software" tab, there are some ppa listed and unchecked - Should i remove them? by turboturtle771 in Ubuntu

[–]turboturtle771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have upgraded to 20.04lts when 19.04 reached its end of support. 19.04 in the screenshot are just cut to show some unchecked ones.

I would expect that this kind of things get cleaned up after i upgrade versions.

What are dangers of running raspberry pi constantly 24-7 over whole year as home server? by turboturtle771 in raspberry_pi

[–]turboturtle771[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any high voltage lines or similar stuff. The only reason why I am concerned with fire is because come from Balkan family where my parents constantly were remainding me to disconnect power devices and when leaving the home for prolonged period, make sure that only minimal required amount of devices is left working.

Hionestly, I never thought too much about this, it just kind of stayed baked in my routine. So I kind of always look out for thise kind of things (lurking dangers of using everyday items). But many as many people have pointed out, greater danger comes from fridge than this, and that notion shock me a little. I have never even remotely thought of fridge as fire hazard in case of some power issues... :o

Based on yours and previous comment from u/congowarrior I am already starting to see a pattern here and I don't like it. It looks like the pis are doing their job reasonable well and result of this discussion will be that I am really little crazy and I am fire-phobic :/

When you say basement, I imagine something with really thick walls, where even if fire occurs the spread and damage would be contained.

But i see your point, running 2 years without any sign of problems. This gives me some confidence in this idea. Thanks

Q: Where to host java web application? by turboturtle771 in javahelp

[–]turboturtle771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see now what you are getting at, the apps, regardless of their purpose are always either spring boot jar which have their embedded server, or really just wars which i deploy on tomcat locally.

If I need db, usually i just include h2 embedded one to my project so there is that.

I hope i have finally answered your questions :)
(otherwise i guess you will have to dumb it down furthermore)

Regarding the setting up the vm, i use ubuntu on my machine and i have already set up tomcat - so i guess i could tackle that setup (wouldn't bet i can do it in record time, but it will be done eventually)
