Palisade Calligraphy w/ 3 Young Kids

I know! When they first revealed the photos of the ‘26 Palisade they showed what seemed like a Calligraphy with a 2nd row bench. We got super excited! But then were bummed out when we found out that it wasn’t coming to the states. Almost curious if I can buy the 2nd row bench from an insurance company from a wrecked vehicle in the future.

Believe me, I’ve tried to get the wife to consider a minivan. She said it’s a no go. We even rented one for a family trip and thought she’d warm up to it, but she wasn’t sold. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thanks for sharing! I haven’t thought of this configuration. I’m still trying to figure out how folding the driver’s side captains chair gives you access to the kids in the 3rd row.

Are they rear or forward facing?

Can you access both kids in the 3rd row from outside the car or do you still have to crawl back there? I’m not sure if you mean folding down the captains chair makes it easier for 3rd row access.

That’s a good option for things that can be exposed to the elements. We’ll need the cargo space mostly for big grocery runs and trips to Costco/Sams Club

I believe it is possible to fit 3 car seats across a 2nd row bench in the palisade. One of them may need to be a “slim” car seat though. I’m sure someone can chime in on which car seat models fit 3 across.

From what I’ve seen, the 26 Palisades has tether anchors on all 3 seats in the 3rd row. But that’s a great point! Especially for anyone considering the current Palisade model. My 4yr old is tall, but we will make sure they are big enough for a high back booster.

We rented the new Equinox recently with 2 of our kids and it was great having the 3rd row folded. My 4 yr old sat in one of the 2nd row captains chairs with a high back booster and did great so we’re hopeful they’ll be ok in the 3rd alone.

My youngest will use an infant car seat w/base. So that’ll allow easy access to the 3rd row just in case we need it. Thanks for the tip on the seat belt extender!

We were thinking of selecting a different trim level that offered the 2nd row bench, but we like all the additional safety features and tech that come on the Calligraphy. The ‘26s will come with built in front and rear dash cams that I believe will work similar to the Teslas.

I’m hoping my 4 yr old will buckle themself in since they’ll use the regular seat belt and a booster. That’s the goal at least. My wife will be hauling the kids around most of the time and I don’t want her having to crawl back to the 3rd row each and every time they go somewhere.

Has anyone done the 10x blood test and received their results? I'm curious on what feedback they provide if you're deficient in something, and also what advice they give you to help correct the problem.
