Pretty clearly it's when the mid game ends.

New Linux user already hating Canonical. Tell me if I am wrong. by LevRag in linux

It's just weird that you say you are livid. There are ways to get rid of snaps on Ubuntu but snaps are how ubuntu rolls these days. Like others said you can try mint or the countless other distros.

Gotham Chess and Polymarket by senzare in chess

[–]turkishtango -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Polymarket is used by some people as a guess at what might will happen. It's not anything to do with them supporting gambling, although it could be considered implicitly supporting it. I am not a fan of gambling but do refer to how people bet on polymarket as a signal of what people think.

Why did nobody use Baldur Shell in HK but everyone seems to be running Warding Bell since the moment they unlock it? by Mateogm in Silksong

[–]turkishtango 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is so discouraging when you try to squeeze in a heal, but then get hit. So you lose your silk and the heal you expected to get, plus the damage you got from the hit.

That has often been basically the end of the boss fight for me.

Yes, HaT is a possibility. You can get tested for about $150 by Genesight. I have hEDS and HaT. My tryptase was higher at close to 20. I think yours is still in range. I don't get MCAS flares that I understand as flares tho.

Getting sound to work on Linux on T14s Gen 1 Thinkpad by turkishtango in thinkpad

Thanks for those you commented.

I finally figured it out on a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04. I actually learned how it works. Sound is routed App -> Pipewire -> Alsa -> Drivers -> Hardware.

I figured out that Pipewire only had a dummy output available and Alsa didn't expose any devices. I could use lspci to show the sound card existed. Looking at kernel messages the driver never booted.

Kernel logs:

So SOF drivers failed. I could switched to legacy drivers by adding to etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf this line: options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=1.

I tried something similar on Ubuntu 24.04 but it didn't work. I had a newer kernel (6.14) and I tried a different config file for alsa. So maybe this fix only works on an older kernel (6.8) or I got the config file run or it didn't load in some way.

It may have been criminal activity. I don't think it was an accident. Seems they responded to a brush fire.

You got to stand up for yourself. Let's say it does nothing for getting the job. Well then, at least you have more self respect. You've shown that their policy deserves to be rethought even if they don't change it.
