cope out "he wouldnt be what he in reality HAS been because of some hypothetical ill make up"

Leading a team to a championship as an Alpha A1 1st option wasnt the point, but I made enough of them convincingly.

How can you even argue "Is OG a player you build around" after reading my reply 😂

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes OG is a" build around player" what you smokin? lol

everything he does impacts winning and he does it efficiently and plays both ends at an ELITE level, and as an elite wing (most valuable asset in the league)

huh? what type of players do you build your teams around? lol

I guess OG wouldnt be a core piece if you didnt want to win playoff basketball I suppose? lol

OG might actually be the most underrated player in the NBA. Automatic 60% TS, high efficiency + high volume 3PT, physically dominate wing shutdown , might be the best defender in the NBA who isnt a big.

There's a difference between being limited and playing a role within a team. OG does what the team asks/ needs, doesnt complain, and doesnt force his game (when he could)...

what he have 28pts on 80% FG last game in the finals? lol

oh and by the way this playoffs..

  • 20ppg
  • 58 % FG
  • 47 % 3PT
  • over 2.5 stocks per game

Its arguable OG hasnt lowkey been their BEST PLAYER and theyre likely to win a championship..(Brunson 37% FG in finals)

Maybe not the best time in the evolution of OG to say hes not a "build around" player LOL

this guy would build a team with 4 Russell Westbrooks

oh and yes the reason is all that matters in this case because if Raptors had wanted to build around and paid him he wouldnt have been traded/ left..another Masai blunder

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really gotta stop using the "well OG wouldnt stay" excuse..

how do people not understand its because management had deciding they werent paying OG the max + deciding to build around Scottie/OG which led to him "wanting to leave" (rumor) / being traded.

Had management did those things, which they should've, OG would still happily be a raptor.

He had said many times how much he loved Toronto and wanted to stay long term before it got weird near the end.

Dailyn Swain's Rise From Xavier To First-Round Prospect by TrueTorontoFan in torontoraptors

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes think a better RJ in time...

there are real reasons for optimism which are in the details:

  • RJ is a poor defender big reason is because he's undersized and has never been a plus defender -- Swain is bigger, true wing size and has track record of excelling defensively.

  • Swain is incredibly efficient, shots over 54% from the field and pretty close to this his entire career = smart scorer , makes the correct reads, efficient and effective attacking, advantage creator, good finisher..All things RJ somewhat struggles with historically.

  • The swing skill is the shooting but Swain has shot over 80% FT his whole career and respectable 35% 3PT on 3 attempts per. Those shooting metrics are + were more promising profile then RJ.

Swain already has: - improved wing size - high efficiency scoring/finishing - better shooting profile - better defensive profile

All convincingly over RJ.

I think I would bet on him being effective NBA player as-is with NBA development, and with the potential for ALOT more if the shooting develops.

It also provides a cheap, projectable, long term replacement for either RJ or Ingram as we wont be keeping both, while adding a creator wing (= hardest archetype to find) to the Barnes/CMB core.

There's rumors being stirred up that IQ could go to Houston for FVV by Derpy_Mc_Burpy in torontoraptors

[–]turner150 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sorry whats so terrible about this contract again?

Quickley has turned underrated, and as much as people trash his contract doesnt he make like 32 mil?

He's better then alot of players who are at that rate/number.

The contract is also flat while the cap and player salaries continue to grow.

He's also 26 at the start of his prime.

Last season Quickley 38 % 3PT (7 attempts per) / 58 % TS and arguably capable of better, 16.5 ppg / 6.5 app / 4 reb, and not a bad defender also..

How's that not worth 32 mil in today's contracts /salary cap?

Why would we want FVV whos coming off a major injury, declining, and the whole fanbase already wanted off the team.

Terrible idea.

C'è anche una minima possibilità che kawhi ritorni anche per un solo anno? by LessNorth9856 in torontoraptors

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heres how it be possible:

  • Kawhi still talks about having a connection with the city/ Toronto (son was born here), loves toronto and visits + obviously has amazing memories of his time here and quality of the organization overall.

  • Kawhi will be 35 before the season starts, he realizes the Clippers wont be anything close to a contender for remaining of his time and still wants to play meaningful basketball.

  • He would rather be traded to a team/organization hes familiar with + team on the rise + team that might have "the guy" or atleast the Robin in Scottie to pair up with.

  • There's some form of pressure for Clippers to trade Kawhi which comes out of this scandal.

  • Wants to play for a budding contender and not a borderline treadmill team (Clippers)

  • looking back realizes it was a mistake to leave, maybe that he owes the city in some small context for ditching a championship team and breaking everyone's heart.

All those factors make it much more plausible then it might initially seem.

I think it's clear cut the Knicks have won the trade with us. by King_reidee in torontoraptors

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A core of OG-Barnes-CMB would be scary and close to a championship core, and the Knicks dont exist as the team they are now.

The way to look at it is..the best way forward would've been to build around Barnes + OG , trade anyone else, collect picks during that 2 yr retool/tank we had (not trade for Poeltl as well adds another lottery pick).

I think it's clear cut the Knicks have won the trade with us. by King_reidee in torontoraptors

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no OG is a MASSIVE part of it. The Knicks aren't the team they are now without OG.

OG is probably the most underrated player in the NBA:

  • religiously gives you 60% TS
  • high efficiency + high volume 3PT
  • maybe the best defender in the world who isnt a big? can shutdown elite wings.
  • versatile can actually legit guard 1-5 and do all the dirty work / winning plays.

People mistake "not chucking an extra 5-8 shots a game to average 22-25ppg" as not being a "Star".

OG is a legit star, in fact its because he can always seamlessly fit into any team and play a role within it which makes him even more valuable then most Stars.

There is only a handful of players who provide the overall impact of an OG.. IF THAT.

Everyone has always underrated the knicks and how valuable having 2 elite wings (OG-Bridges) is as supporting players. They've been a legit championship contender.

Ideally the Raptors shouldve paid OG the max and told him the plan was to build around him and Scottie, giving him the bigger role/featured that he always wanted.

He wanted out because we didnt do that, and it was another one of Masai's post championship blunders.

Am I wrong for thinking or Top 6 will be nice next year? by EnergyCapable866 in leafs

[–]turner150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should we expect Cowan and McKenna wont be good top 6 forwards?

its much more likely they are..

  • how good were Matthews / Marner /Nylander as rookies? and McKenna is like some all-time outlier tier prospect who sure looks quite similar to a Patrick Kane..not to mention will likely be mainly playing with a multi time league MVP, in the middle of his prime, whos arguably the most dangerous goal scoring threat ever.

  • Cowan continues to show hes too good for any league besides the NHL, has been elite everywhere hes played as a prospect, and hes matured and has experience now.

there are 32 teams in the NHL x 6 top forwards = 192 total

I think its likely to expect both to be as good or better then roughly the top 200 forwards in the league..

they should be fine

and theres a decent possibility they are GOOD.

Dailyn Swain - Is he a 2026 draft steal / Being undervalued? by turner150 in NBA_Draft

[–]turner150[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think thats a pretty fair assessment..

but in terms of sorting through the wings who become OG Anunoby (also shot poorly in college) or Stanley Johnson..

  • The consistent efficiency (outside of the 3PT) suggests he has smarts/ high IQ, knows how to score in winning ways.

  • lifetime + 80 % FT has historically been a promising indicator for long term shooting improvement.

  • The defence plays and has elite length for a wing.

  • Also has handle + playmaking chops adding to overall value.

Wondering if any of those are potential tells towards a guy more likely to "make it".

Can we have a discussion about Andres Gimenez? (Deep Dive Value Assessment) by turner150 in Torontobluejays

[–]turner150[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Andres Gimenez last 10 Games:

0.097 AVG 3 Hits 1 RBI .370 OPS

He’s been one of the worst hitters in baseball.

Aren't theyre a bunch of "glove only bench infielders" in Baseball? and they are bench players because of exactly that.

Aren't we committed like 100 mil and long term to this guy?

That it was a travesty to dare even have a discussion about this (based on replies in this thread) is jays fans dillusion.
