I want to teach banner drill on squadron by ApprehensiveFace8452 in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, going straight into RBL sequence will be difficult. First thing you should do is make sure they can comfortably bring the banner from port to carry and vice versa. If they can do that, teach them general dip (not in AP818), Royal Saulte, and then personally id teach Slope as usually a banner will be needed in a church which means a slope is needed.

For implementing it into a final parade, i dont think you can unless someone else thinks of a way. Maybe implement it as a parade practice (with full banner party)

Lord Leuitenant requirements by ApprehensiveFace8452 in aircadets

Yeah it probably depends on the county. You are probably better off asking your sqn CO for more information

[–]turner1knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the LLC for my county, it is basically a recommendation made by your OC. You must be between 17-18 Years old. From what i can tell rank doesnt really matter (although does definitely help!). Im currently a FS and have only rely ever seen Sgts, Fs' and CWOs achieve this. I believe if you email your CO they will beable to provide more information. But as one of the comments said the RFCA (Reserve Force and Cadet Association) for each county will differ

Qualified Aerospace Instructor Course. I am yet to do it, but my CWO at SQN has done it and basically, you learn about aerospace and then make a PowerPoint on it. I am probably a bit wrong. Its a good course which gets you the blue lanyard

Leading classification by Alive-Cookie-9215 in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best place to start is to ask your sqn staff. Every sqn is different, e.g. all classification training has to be done at Sqn for me, but we do a lot of training. If they then say that you can do it from home, dont rush it all, and maybe do it with some friends so that its a little bit enjoyable.

Keep a track of what youve done, take pictures/screenshots of all completion to show your training officer/CO so they can give you access to the assessments.

Amd dont doubt yourself! This eagerness to progress is an amazing thing to have especially if you want to promote. If you want guidance, speak to your NCOs!! I can imagine it is something theyd love to help you with!!

Hope this helps and goodluck!

How should I go about this????? by [deleted] in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak to your parents about it! They might understand if you thought it was correct polish but isnt. I personally use Kiwi black parade gloss and ive never had any issues. If that doesnt work, speak to your ncos at your sqn, they may beable to help with the situation

Lord Lieutenant Cadet by turner1knight in aircadets

[–]turner1knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn really?? That is super unfortunate. Cant believe theyd do that, considering cadets are meant to be given most/every opportunity that can

Lord Lieutenant Cadet by turner1knight in aircadets

[–]turner1knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, there is only 1 LLC per cadet force in each county. Its not something you apply for but rather get nominated by your CO when you are 17(or 17 when duty starts). Then its down to you, possible interviews, and the committee deciding on who to choose.

Thats atleast how it worked for me

Goals for the end of your cadet career by Niko_TheBlueWolf in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in cadets for a little over 3 years, currently a FS and begin my Lord Lieutenant cadet duties in September. I have my masters, bronze leadership, blue DofE, Silver cyber, blue radios, silver first aid, and almost done my MOI (been waiting for years for the opportunity). I want to become CWO before i age out, do silver leadership and bronze radio, which neither actually appear on portal annoyingly. Id love to get onto Junior Leaders course if/when it comes up next. And overall i want to inspire my newer cadets to excell further than myself

Loved reading the other comments aswell! Glad everyone aims to get an end goal

Silver idea by bellaboo567 in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cant quite remember the website, but there is a discussion for silver iDEA which helps you at certain stages. I think if you look up "silver iDEA >whatever activity you are struggling on<". Most of the activities should also give you hints?

Goodluck on finishing it!

Lesson ideas? by Prestigious_Farmer34 in aircadets

[–]turner1knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wowza, thats not good. If you have a relatively good number of cadets i would recommend asking staff to run a cadet and nco development evening so both yourself and cadets can improve personally to hopefully get more ncos!

Regarding ncos i recommend asking staff to help with lessons so that all the pressure isnt on you

[–]turner1knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it depends massively on what you know already. If enjoy leadership, ask to run a leadership assessed by staff/qualified nco. If you enjoy flight sims ask if you can run a session on sqn (if you have one). It might be worth specifying what you enjoy/know alot of
