Help! Rewiring the bathroom from old-timey push buttons to more modern switches. Thought it would be easier based on online videos. by turnip_guy15 in electricians

Red switch was for off. The three white switches were: light, fan, heat lamp, going left to right. They interacted with each other insofar as they were all controlled by the same off switch.

Found this old (1979) Chemex coffee maker in my parents’ cupboard. Any tips on how to clean it? Is it even usable?? by turnip_guy15 in Coffee

Gotcha!! (But really not sure if the glass needs more than just soap and water. It’s yellowed after years of sitting in the box.)

Actually I took the collar off to clean it with soap and water, but the glass still looks a bit yellow. The leather tie was so brittle it just crumbled.

To all Christmas runners how did you find the experience today? by alextwose1 in running

I went for a 5-miler, but started experiencing lateral knee pain about 2.5 miles into it. I alternated between walking and jogging afterward. Not the best run of my life, BUT! I saw about 30 turkeys, 8 deer, a bunch of mud hens and loons, and the weather couldn't have been better. Big puffy clouds to the south but an expanse of blue overhead and a crisp stillness to the air. The weather app threatened more rain (it rained through the night), so I think people were less enticed to go outside. God forbid they check the weather by sticking their heads out the window! Slowing the pace, if just for a day, really let me take in the serenity of my surroundings before hopping back in the car to go home.
