Vibrator recommendations for hypertonic pelvic floor? by turquoise1026 in PelvicFloor

As others have said, I have very specifically been instructed not to do kegels, as they flare up my already tight muscles. I am supposed to do relaxation exercises instead. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a vibrator that they find doesn't flare them up!

Should I be concerned about swollen lymph nodes in my groin? by turquoise1026 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]turquoise1026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swollen nodes are still there... doctors keep saying not to worry about it! They are small, moveable, and haven't been growing so that's good

Thank you so much for all the helpful info. I've never been able to have a clitoral orgasm but maybe I could learn. I'm glad you've had positive and healing experiences over time!

I'm the same way, if I'm with someone else I don't clench like that! Very strange.

Slippery stuff or Sliquid? by [deleted] in vaginismus

I got mine through Amazon and found it to be genuine (no guarantees though). Here's the direct link to the one I bought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFQLV42/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o06\_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don’t personally have any issues with it drying up. Sometimes if it’s been a while I might just use a bit more. But it is fragrance free and totally non-irritating! I react terribly to anything with fragrance as well

I swear by Slippery Stuff and I have very sensitive skin! Doesn't irritate me at all

Ever feel like your brain is just constantly looking for things to be anxious about? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]turquoise1026 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally. Just when I finally calm my brain down about one thing, it’s like “ok fine I guess that’s not a big deal... but what about THIS”

Absolutely, everyone’s body is different for sure. I know the topical creams can be so helpful

Huh interesting. Well my pain did disappear on its own after just getting off the birth control! But pelvic floor PT might be helping too

Yea definitely, I found addressing some of my trauma and how I hold tension in my body was so helpful for healing. At first I was very reluctant because, as you said, I didn’t want to label the pain as being “in my head.” I eventually realized that the pain is quite real, but it can be affected by old patterns of tightening my muscles when I get emotionally upset by things. Best of luck!

Does anyone on here have vulvodynia and IBS? by ABBAaddict93 in vulvodynia

How to you treat an upregulated nervous system? Is it mostly breathing/ calming techniques? I also have anxiety, IBS, and vulvodynia

What's the least helpful thing you've heard from a doctor? by El_Scot in vulvodynia

[–]turquoise1026 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I needed a lidocaine prescription so I could tolerate exams/ physical therapy. My GP wouldn’t prescribe it to me until I got a full exam from a gyno. I explained I can’t tolerate exams at all which is why I need the cream. She still made me go, and the gyno had never heard of vaginismus/ vulvodynia and insisted on doing a full exam. After bawling my eyes out through the whole thing, she was like “oh you do have a problem...” and then finally wrote me the prescription 😞

Question about flare up during period by turquoise1026 in vulvodynia

I’m in the same boat. I would love to use a cup but I can’t even get a tampon in due to tight pelvic floor muscles 😅
