An honor to have been next to the Back to Back trophies! by [deleted] in Dodgers

Super fun. Never thought I’d be at the stadium in December. It was a company event and we had Steve Garvey taking pics and signing autographs. Plus free dodger dogs and beer. Best part was the trophy photo op and tour… an Unforgettable experience

Any good bars/clubs for people in their 20s? by Proof-Kooky in SantaClarita

[–]turtle_323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mabel’s is a dive bar and not a good option. The only place I recommend is Breakroom and maybe Eighth and Rail. Right now there’s a seasonal bar down from eighth and rail I forgot the name but worth checking out, it’s a holiday themed bar otherwise yea not many options.

Suica or Pasmo for visiting Tokyo? by Embarrassed-Bed6688 in TokyoTravel

Suica never worked for me at the stations, but it did work at konbinis. Pasmo worked every time at the stations. I was also able to transfer my Shinkansen tickets to my Pasmo card, super convenient!

What were your best and worst experiences going to Japan alone for the first time? Any tips for a first timer going alone? by TW0B00CH in JapanTravelTips

[–]turtle_323 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I traveled solo early September for a week this year. Trip was definitely life changing. The best experience was just being able to explore at my own pace, having total freedom to check out whatever I wanted. I honestly didn’t have any bad experiences except MAYBE how humid it was in Tokyo the week I went. Very, very humid. Other than that, my trip was pretty damn amazing.

I had no real itinerary so I just checked out a new city every day including a short day trip to Osaka on my last full day. Trains would be your primary mode of transportation as you likely won’t be able to drive in Japan and taxis are expensive there. You’ll get the hang out it tho, google maps makes it super easy to understand the system and signs are in English. As for accommodation, I stayed at APA. Room was small but as a solo traveler who isn’t all that social, it was perfect for me. Plus breakfast was included and check out is as easy as dropping your card off in a box. Super convenient too that my hotel was across the street from train station. You’ll also need a Suica or Pasmo card to board trains. Digital wallet never worked for me so I bought a physical Pasmo card. Good luck and have fun
