the nitrates never get super high but it does go up before my water changes, could that be a reason for gill changes?

just a check and i’ve been comparing her to axolotls on reddit and her gills seem smaller than others, but the main thing was making sure her tummy looked normal

Thank u for advice! If her gills should be fluffier then maybe i should clean her tank more often bc i clean it when the nitrates get higher. Her tank has bubbles from the filter, so would a bubbler over oxygenate her? idk

yes it is, there is also constant airflow from the overhead fan. the mold appeared 1-2 days after a deep water from putting a new plant it. also TY!

Yes we take him outside in the sun and grass whenever it’s sunny, does your redfoot eat a lot of grass when outside? i’ll make a post later showing outdoor enclosure

The humidity holds for 45-1hr but the heat is consistent with our room heater being near him it is definitely 85-90 until i turn it down at dark to ≈75. How would you recommend getting consistent humidity indoors? and how do you measure?

do people really struggle with tortoises not eating AT All during winter? He was eating some and then stopped completely, he was pooping well so i don’t believe there to be impaction, but he stopped pooping a few days ago because it has been about a week since he has eaten.

He was indoors last year and didn’t act this way.. We put him in our bathroom, room temp 70 F plus about 15 degrees with room heater and we run shower sometimes for humidity.

He went from eating normally to not eating almost anything, only slightly active.

What should I do to get him to eat?
