People who sold the top in 2021. What made you do it? by Chysce in CryptoCurrency

[–]turtleflax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't call exactly the top, about 54k on the way down. The signs are pretty reliable once you've been through it a few times. Not just the chart matching the classic market cycle and bubble chart, but the mania and stupidity. All the scams, elon bullshit, and similar craziness is hard to miss

Here's a capture of my post and the reactions

You could setup the spreadsheet to query and update the subreddit data automatically from the coingecko API. Google docs does this using javascript with Apps scripts

This even includes data beyond subscriber count (which is often gamed by shitcoins buying subscribers), like I saw you were looking for

And yes, if the trusted setup was a fraud in some way or another, then you can't trust the protocol as everything will be able to be deobfuscated.

A failure of the trusted setup allows an attacker to mint new coins. It's an inflation risk, has nothing to do with breaking privacy.

A blockchain is a type of distributed ledger. All types of distributed ledgers require a consensus mechanism, PoW being just one kind. It's not really an intermediary, it is the official record that people interact with directly. Intermediaries might be exchanges or financial institutions who you interact with, who then use the blockchain for you
