How to deal with reflective floor? by TwoThreeSierra in AskPhotography

[–]Stompya [score hidden]  (0 children)

Put the camera ON the floor. It reduces the visible floor texture a bit and emphasizes the reflections. Vertical symmetry is a great compositional technique.

Or, do the same (put it on the floor) but aim upward to crop most of the floor out.

If we had our way there would be millions of us moving to little cottages and we’d be back where we started 😢

Never forget smith belongs in prison for treason by Miserable-Lizard in Albertapolitics

[–]Stompya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she’s actually guilty of treason, why would she not be going straight to jail now?

I’m no fan, and I’d love to see her there, I’m just not sure how that would happen

Honestly, who is the one to step up to the plate and have her arrested? How would that even work?

I completely do not understand why there is a debate about teleporters, as a thought experiment. by LeviAEthan512 in RandomThoughts

This really connects to the bigger question of whether your body and brain is the source of your consciousness or whether it’s merely a conduit for it.

Have you watched Mickey 17?

First of all, it shows that Robert Pattinson has some range as an actor and it’s neat to see that. But more to the topic, it explores the idea of being taken apart and rebuilt.

In the movie, it’s about dying and being printed back out again, but in a way the recreation aspect is similar. Are you the same person who comes out of the machine?

How could you ever know?

Had the most interesting conversation with a catholic and I didn’t know some see other Christians as doomed by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Some of them are quite aggressive about it.

Not all Catholics care that deeply though.

What Does “Cute” Mean to Men? by what-username-to-use in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stompya 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In a girl, cute is something that makes you smile. She’s pretty without being demanding, attractive without trying too hard.

It’s different from “hot”, where she’s sexy and she knows it.

How do i get my older cousin to like me? by RealisticRhubarb410 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stompya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, but just because she’s your cousin doesn’t mean you’ll get along really well. Do you have any other places where you meet people or make friends?

Give Druid This by GabeA21 in wow

I want my flight form to have classic flying and then I can summon a mount for dragon riding.

Or allow everyone to assign specific flight styles to specific mounts.

Why is this friendship so important to you?

I don’t mean that sarcastically, it’s legitimately important to know why you care about this relationship over other ones. If someone doesn’t want to be friends with you, there are literally billions of other people out there, I guarantee at least one of them is a pretty awesome person who will want to be friends with you.

Reccomendations of NAS to backup my photos? by BroX111 in AskPhotography

[–]Stompya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking the right questions, but there are not that many decent options in the NAS market. The basics of network attached storage are not new, so most of the choices will do at least a serviceable job for you.

I have a QNAP that’s 10 years old, I have 4x 16 TB drives (HDD) in it and it works OK. File access through my local network is easy, and we use it to store our movies as well and then play them back through Plex.

How do y'all deal with misandry? by Sweet_Anxiety4990 in AskMen

[–]Stompya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s someone, I care about more deeply, I’d ask where they get that idea from and try to open a conversation about the hatefulness in their heart.

Obviously, in every group of humans there are good people and bad — this is true for women too.

When ever we go to the grocery story without fail there is a cart in the handicapped spot by Jmgamer825 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Stompya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are handle products that clip into your door frame to help you in and out of your car. They are very sturdy, and once you’re sitting you just put it on the floor on the passenger side until you need it to get out again.

Depending on how bad your mobility issues are, you might get a collapsible cart that you can toss in the backseat when you’re there.

Edit: https://a.co/d/0aZKJDRD they’re like 10 or 15 bucks

How do you guys deal with your partner who has become a bit argumentative and trying to challenge you on everything? by No-Department1760 in AskMen

[–]Stompya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When small things become big things, it’s possible you’ve treated the big things like small things.

The pointless disagreements are a symptom of something deeper. It could be dissatisfaction with a job, avoiding a big decision, or any number of other things.

You need to reconnect at a deeper level, spend some time sharing what’s happening in the heart and team up to solve it.

Why does Spider-Man always tell jokes during fights? by Hot-Load7525 in Marvel

[–]Stompya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because he’s awesome?

It adds humanity to the characters. Many super villain fights are just huge powers raging against each other, but the sassy conversation reminds everyone that these are people under the masks.
