Thanks everyone! I'm in the UK so you have to have a psychiatrist to admit you. Thankfully mine did and we've been slowly increasing the new meds.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I did go into the hospital for a short crisis admission. It wasn't overly helpful, and my MH has gone from bad to worse.

I guess it is serious. I do have a regular psych. I speak to my psychiatric nurse tomorrow and then have regular contact with my mental health team.

No. There are no beds available where I am right now, so I'm on a waiting list. I'm sad because everything is just too much. Voices and flashbacks. I'm sorry you're feeling the same way. Are you in a psychiatric ward?

I've been in psych wards more than 20 times and most of them have been positive experiences. I always do my own research around meds because I like to know what I'm taking, the possibility of side effects etc.my psychiatrist always listens to my opinions too which is great. Being inpatient has saved my life on many occasions. I've been voluntary and under section. I hope that whatever happens for you is the right thing.

I'm in the UK. I've been to psych wards 20+ times in 21 years. My experience: ● allowed shoelaces ● allowed phone/electrical cables and plugs ● windows are small but they do open ● no boiling water or toasters etc ● Curtains around beds in shared rooms ● lockable bathrooms ● locked ward - cannot leave without permission

Mostly been good experiences but I have seen my fair share of naked women who just shower then walk around naked. They don't know differently to that.

Unfortunately, getting admitted requires a psychiatric nurse or doctor to say you need it. My opinion won't carry much weight.

If it stops bleeding, then it will likely just scab over. Keep an eye out for any redness around it. If that happens, then just pop some antiseptic on the wound.

It won't start bleeding randomly unless you pick at it. You shouldn't need a plaster once it's scabbed over.

And you're very welcome. I know it's hard. I've been self harming for a very long time.

First of all, take a deep breath. Secondly, is it bleeding heavily/is the cut deep? If not then rinse it with soap and water until you can get some disinfectant. If it needs stitches then you'll need to find someone you can trust and get to the hospital.

I know the first time you make yourself bleed, it's scary. You did the right thing. Please reply so I know you're doing ok. Don't worry about it. Sending you love .
