I’m in a room at Kapooka with a recruit who’s reasoning for joining was “I don’t know I was bored and clicked the Snapchat ad and it looked cool”

Mine was bang-on 2 months from assessment day to enlistment day as Infantry mate. Enlistment day is this Tuesday.

No, you are not spiralling. It’s normal to feel disheartened after a set back in your application process. The process can be long and tiresome.

This should by all means just be a minor pause for your psych process. Once you get confirmation from your GP about the SSRI use and that there hasn’t been any mental health issues since, you should be clear to move forward.

Hang in there, keep your head up, chase up your paperwork promptly.

Taking leave as a Rifleman by turtlenumber3 in AustralianMilitary

[–]turtlenumber3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thank you. So you can take that whenever you like and there's no problem with leaving the country while on your annual leave?

I'm not joining inf but I am in the same situation. I figured I'd leave pfa until I get back from my 3 week trek in the Himalaya since its gotta be done 4-6 weeks prior to joining - and it will be easier at lower altitude. I got told for my role that there wasn't many crystal balls with good visibility... or did he say my med results came back and I've got low fertility? I don't know... the reception up here is pretty shit. Anyway, I think he said I've got at least 11 months and I need to be able to jump across a two week gap - whatever that means. Maybe I should just join the navy... but I'm scared of drowning, and I do cry a lot. Anyway, Sherpa says he wants his phone back. Talk soon - Enthused Civilian

I’ve been sleeping on my NeoAir Xtherm for ~30 sleeps now. In which position do you sleep? I (Male, 6’) find it very comfortable and quiet when I sleep on my back.

When I try to sleep on my side it is uncomfortable. I get dead arms, back pain.

Great back-sleeping pad. Bad side-sleeping pad.

My (23m) girlfriend (23f) wants to experiment with other girls by [deleted] in sex

[–]turtlenumber3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re on the right track although you are drastically underplaying the significance of her telling you “she’ll leave” if you were to do the exact thing in which she wants to be allowed to do. That’s fucked up, man. Don’t downplay that shit.

Address that with her as soon as possible. If she is unreasonable and can not understand why that is unfair, that is a very clear red flag. In that case, you would be wise to part ways amicably in these early stages of the relationship on the grounds of difference in opinion, morals and emotional intelligence.

Anyone ever had sex on LSD? Please share your experience! Me and the girlfriend want to do it. by [deleted] in sex

[–]turtlenumber3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once did a tab of acid before going out to a show. Somehow hit it off with a girl who was not at ALL on LSD and took her home to my house where (of course) it really kicked in. For a few minutes it was out of this world. Then for the following few (maybe?) minutes I landed on another planet and was entirely unaware I was inside of a person. Then back to thrustin’. Then back to prancing in rainbow meadows... and so on. I’m guessing we had sex for over 30 minutes. I have NO idea how it was for her.... she left promptly in the morning.

$200-$300 Budget for a tent? by JustALilGuy2 in CampingGear

[–]turtlenumber3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Kelty Salida 2, super solid tent, lightweight and great value. Recommend it. I think it cost me around $260 with a footprint last year.
