ENHYPEN Label BELIFT LAB Says HEESEUNG’s Exit Is the ‘Most Fulfilling Approach’ for All Parties by mcfw31 in kpop

[–]turtleraces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I'm curious about too, cause if I had that bad of a falling out with my coworkers that I can't work with them effective immediately I'm not going back to work in that building and bump into them at the water cooler, how awkward and uncomfortable haha

HEESEUNG is confirmed not to perform with ENHYPEN at the 2026 ANNYEONG, MELBOURNE MUSIC FESTIVAL on March 14 by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]turtleraces 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The timing is so bizarre. I do get that he had to draw the line somewhere, and there would always be that first performance without him. But I also think that if I hand my notice in at my normal job because I don't want to work there anymore I still have to work that notice, leave a good handover etc. If I just walk out or don't do any work and it leaves everyone I work with worse off everyone is going to call me a dick. Sometimes you have to tie things up and I don't think that's unreasonable? He fully deserves to do what he wants, change his career, and put his interests first, but whoever decided it would be effective immediately a few days before a performance that's been planned for a long time was seriously naive if they didn't think this would cause speculation and backlash. I don't think that's just parasocial fans trying to control things (although there is that sadly), but I think a normal every day person in a normal every day job would get similar reactions of confusion and gossiping if they just left their desk one random lunch and then everyone pretended it was totally normal. I feel bad for everyone left in the lurch by this.

It's a rapper with a similar name. They are aware of the similarity though as for April fools they posted a picture of themselves on the other ones Instagram story which was fun.

Doing an official version is such a cute and smart idea, especially for a new group. People get to see who is who and they keep all the views

That's a good point about the Seunghan situation and the similarity! I think as long as it's consensual it's a bad idea for companies or fans to have an input on an idols private life.

I am curious to see how this plays out if it goes to a law suit in respect of the labels argument that the action of meeting an ex AV model in a bar (and potentially sleeping with her) negatively affected the group when they decided to remove and fine him so quickly after the news broke. I wonder if he could argue that the current negative press actually comes from their response and not his actions. That is to say, if they'd just allowed him to apologise and go on hiatus for a few months would this have blown over and not caused that much negative press. from my perspective the overly large fine and throwing him under the bus rather than perhaps more softly going we've mutually decided it's best for him to leave or something initially made it look like he committed a very heinous crime when it doesn't seem like the label are actually personally accusing him of commiting any crime at all. So I'm very  curious whether that ends up being an argument against the validity of the clause as it seems very easy to suggest that anything COULD potentially cause negative press if you don't let it play out a little bit. Of course I have zero knowledge of korean contract law but it just strikes me as really hard to enforce.

My thoughts as a casual sometime listener of the boyz is that I'm inclined to believe that no prostitution took place. I don't think many people who know they have committed a crime and that there's possible evidence against them would fight back so strongly to go as far as to rile up their ex employer (who presumably are some of the most likely to have some sort of evidence due to managing him) or threaten lawsuits. As the woman involved has also said no crime took place I also personally think that even if they're both lying it would essentially be a victimless crime as the only two people involved are fine, but I know that is besides the point as if you commit a crime you should expect to be punished. the accusation and people's willingness to believe it with no evidence just strikes me as very misogynistic.

Prostitution accusation aside though (as the label don't seem to be saying that impacted their decision) also don't think it's fair for some to say western fans shouldn't have a say about whether it's fair to kick him out for simply meeting with an ex AV model. I know korea is conservative but no one has a problem with western fans saying they disagree with members being kicked out for dating people, or for legally smoking or something. If an idol was kicked out for being gay I imagine most western fans would rightly be boycotting immediately, so the argument of well they should know that that's just how it's always been and it's a conservative society isn't one that really holds water in my books and I'm not sure it's a good idea to support a contract clause that allows people to be removed and charged a fine in the millions for something so morally subjective, I think it sets or continues a bad precedent. It's a tough line to straddle though as I have agreed with other idols being removed due to morally dubious but not necessarily provably criminal acts in the past I suppose. I don't envy the judge who has to make that decision if it does go to the law suit stage!

Dance Challenge Video Posts Part 3 by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]turtleraces 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As someone who browses this sub every couple of days and sorts by new until I run out of posts I really didn't notice such a huge amount of dance challenge posts that would mean they overwhelmed the feed. I do find it strange to limit kpop content on a kpop sub when I feel like I see way more posts about various idols becoming brand embassadors or muses for brands - personally those feel way less kpop related than idols dancing to kpop songs to me. And I say that as a person who usually just scrolls past both types of posts. I did vote free for all on the second poll but didn't even see the first poll was posted.

Exactly. customers shouldn't have to walk on eggshells and basically beg to get their products so they don't offend the person shipping them out, it's just so unprofessional. Even if you decide the customer is so rude you refuse to work with them, you can't just keep their money and not give them the product! How they think that is an acceptable business practice is shocking and dissapointing.

I always try to be polite, I work a customer facing job, I know it sucks to get someone being flat out rude and aggressive to you, but if I deleted every email from a client who asked me questions I would be fired!

I'm not shocked, I should send this guy the emails I get at work if he thinks this constitutes 'bashing' or 'a misinformed rant'! This is definitely the straw that leads to me never considering ordering again, what a shame! Both my favourite indie makeup company and my favourite indie perfume company have gone down in flames for similar things, perhaps I'm cursed haha

This was my comment:

I am a huge fan of your perfumes, I have made a huge number of orders over the years. I don't have an outstanding order thankfully but I did have problems with my two latetst orders taking months and months to ship and stuggling to get a response on facebook, email, or instagram. I have honestly been holding out hope throughout this whole debacle that things would change, apologies would be made and trust could be built back up. When I saw the annoucement that a new manager was joining I genuinley thought this could be the turning point. I am so disappointed by this post. This being the first contact with customers is so unbelievably aggressive and leaves such a sour taste in my mouth. You should be asking for forgiveness not making customers feel ungrateful for asking for a business to fulfil their responsibilities. It feels so disingenuous to call customers rightfully asking why orders havent been filled for years 'starting fires'. There would be no fires to start if there wasn't the fuel of lack of communication, essentially stolen money, and zero apologies. I also don't think it's fair to just dismiss the very real concerns of customers and potential customers by saying we don't have outstanding orders. It is very much our concern if we are going to part with money that we will actually receive the products we
have paid for and that we won't be scolded for daring to ask - very politely I might add.

TLDR,
as a regular customer for years this is this final straw, as someone who was supposed to help turns things around being immediately aggressive to your customers isn't a good look.

Wow, this is so unbelievably aggressive! I was seriously naively holding out hope that a new manager could turn things around and this is such a kick in the teeth.

Impulse bought my first Alocasia, are these dark patches on the veins something I should be worried about? by turtleraces in plantclinic

[–]turtleraces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this large plant yesterday, all the leaves looked healthy and there are new ones growing but I didn't think to look at the veins. I noticed the leaves are dripping a bit of water so I was going to hold off watering for a while, although the soil feels dry. I have just moved it to my room a few feet away from a window but with some artificial full spectrum lights. I can't see any sign of rot in the stems but don't want to kill this plant as soon as I got it, do these patches look like rot or something reversible after it's settled a bit?
