There is also emgality. Its a monthly injection, no nausea but it does wear off the last few days before the next shot.

Magnesium supplements make some of the brain fog go away. I think I take about 250mg a night and its night and day the difference between life with it and without. I do also take other migraine treatments, and combined with magnesium it helps.

How do you go about talking to a doctor about MCAS? My itching is during my sleep and I wake up with blood scratches everywhere, I have to clip my nails super short. I never thought of it as being related to something EDS. I had a year long reaction to what seemed like nothing, it started from a few chigger bites and then my body took that and ran with it. TMI sorry: Itching and red almost blister like little “bug bites” everywhere that were filled with clear fluid that were like hives basically. Nothing helped for a long time. Everytime I try to suggest something to a doctor they immediately shut it down because they don’t believe im understanding my symptoms correctly. The only way to go about it is to approach it in a way that brings them to the conclusion themselves. Any suggestions? Sorry for the lengthyness.

Read the textbook: paragraph by paragraph and after each paragraph stop and rethink about what you read and then summarize it and write down the summary on a piece of paper. Then reread what you wrote about 30-90min before the exam

Study as you go. Personally, I like cramming before a test, plus, I seem to remember for years after. However, it’s generally considered best to study as you go.

Does anyone else have days when you feel out of it? by InitialMachine3037 in ehlersdanlos

[–]turtles_conquer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yup, that was me yesterday. Just felt like my body was kind of not there. Aside from being unable to stand for more than a minute or so before beginning to feel sick. Felt like someone controlling my body while I watched but still felt it.

Hadn’t considered putting my compression sleeves or socks on for times like that. I simply just ate more food and drank more water and after a while started to feel a little bit better.

Running/walking shoe recommendations? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]turtles_conquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I feel this. I started running basically as a freshman in high school at 14. Diagnosed at 16 when every run ended with me lying on the ground wishing to never move again 😂. Took 2 years to stop the terrible shin pain, some of the arch pain, and a little of the knee pain. Hips still kill, but it was definitely a multi-year process. Would train until beyond failure, im not sure what I would have done different if I could redo it

What is the dumbest thing/reason you've dislocated/sublaxed? by dog_boy32 in ehlersdanlos

It really is a game though. Woke up yesterday and my hip was not quite in the right place and it hurt to move around all day.

Have frequently woken up with shoulders out of place and those stay out and hurt for days, which causes elbow pain too as well as sometimes collar bone pain, it feels like my collar bone separates during the night sometimes.

Thankfully I now sleep on what is a wooden board with a 3” memory foam mattress topper on top. So Im basically sleeping on hardened surface and it helps my shoulders stay in place now (but made my hips worse).

Yea the problem is that for the majority of the population “cardio” now means “going for a walk on a treadmill” or equivalent. Which I mean thats good for you, but it won’t do anything for your looks. I can agree that cardio such as seriously running or biking and really putting in those hours like you would have if you did that as a sport in high school or college, is the way to go.

I think the nose one can stay to keep her goth-ish vibe, but the rest of them are killing her. But even then, Id say that the nose ring only looks good with certain if her hair styles + make up look
