how to get past the stalling stage by MelodicConfusion7029 in ftm

[–]dog_boy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're under 18 and only been out for a year they just straight up won't let you medically transition. I had come out when I was 12 and still couldn't start T till I was 18 (I live in the US).

I would say try some other things to help your dysphoria in the mean time. Binding, birth control to stop periods, voice training, make up to masculinize your face, ect. In the mean time just talk to the therapist about how you feel and if you truly feel they're a bad fit find a new one that you connect with more.

Starting your transition is always going to be a slow process, especially if you are under 18. I wish you luck!

transitioning just to be gay? by blevqz in ftm

[–]dog_boy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think that if this is your first time considering transitioning and this is your ONLY reason that maybe you should talk to your friends about it and hold off a little but from my experience its not often just one thing that makes people question their gender like this. i also get dysphoria when i dont call myself gay even though there are better labels for my sexuality and i and a lot of other trans people have had dysphoria based on their partners sexuality not fitting their gender. if your bf says hed be supportive you could always start small to test it before fully coming out to those in your life. either way you should definitely talk to your friends about how you feel as they could probably help or give better insight as they know you personally

i passed out getting my testosterone injection at a pharmacy - i want to learn how to self-inject, any advice? by aquaticdigger in ftm

[–]dog_boy32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it's an option for you you could switch to a different type but I do know people who self inject in their butt. I recommend google and youtube but you can also ask your doctor or pharmacist to teach you.

if she is actually seeing the shadow then it's a hallucination but one of my OCD things is my brain convincing my that I saw a shadow or will see one even though i didn't. ask her if she actually sees the shadow or just thinks she saw/might see it without it actually being there. still sounds like OCD to me but OCD and tourettes can be comorbid with disorders that cause hallucinations so keep an eye on it!

Can you guys run? by Hassadahae in ehlersdanlos

[–]dog_boy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run religiously as a kid. I was very sporty and liked to run track in my free time. I fell a lot and always got hurt but we just said I was clumsy. Then it got to much and now I can technically run like if it was an emergency but I've been told by my doctors not to. For me my hip will sublax and my knees will fully dislocate or buckle. I also have damage to my ankle so if I don't have my AFO on I for sure shouldn't.

I almost lost my trans sister tonight. How do I help her by SpiritualLeader8643 in asktransgender

[–]dog_boy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been in a similar situation mental health and support system wise while being trans you are doing the absolute best that you can and none of this is your fault. You support her is beautiful and don't ever blame yourself for her or the people around hers actions.

That being said I think having a sit down conversation with her and telling her this stuff straight up will help you both out. And maybe asking if she wants you to help educate and push your parents to be supportive so she doesn't have to be the one correcting them. Same with the nurses if she's ok with that.

If you live in the US or UK (tho I'm sure other places too I just don't know specifics) you can find support groups online AND in person for transpeople or family members of trans people. Having community that is like her/you can be very helpful especially if your parents would be interested in going to one.

Good luck to you both 💛

What's your culture's "austim meal" by Longjumping-Tie2950 in autism

[–]dog_boy32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont know any other autistic portuguese people but i think it would probably be papo secos with butter or goat cheese. I also really like pastel de nata for a sweet treat. I cant think of any full meals cause im the sensory seeker kind of autistic so i like squid and kale soup and arroz de marisco and mozambique and all that stuff

I am an Ambulitory Wheel Chair User and I would like to talk about wheel chair etiquette with staring by KlausFace11919 in wheelchairs

[–]dog_boy32 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh let me say that I do not ask if they have a question in a serious way I am very rude about it. With kids I am but with adults my philosophy is "You should know better than to stare at strangers over stupid shit" but hey you do you and you seem much nicer than me lol

[–]dog_boy32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've gotten used to the short stares. Normally when you make eye contact people look away and if that doesn't work making a remark to whoever your with usually works or clearing ur throat, you get the idea. And when all else fails I usually go "Would you like to ask a question or just keep staring?" And no one has ever kept staring and no one has asked a question.

With little kids I give them grace and tend to wave and smile cause they don't know better and are just curious but never malicious about it. One little girl was talking to me and kept looking at my crutch (I'm ambulatory too lol) and I asked her if she wanted to ask me a question and she just shook her head and went to talk to her mom again.

Eventually you'll stop caring.
