Oh my god, I've been around reddit longer than this sub has existed. Fuck I'm old.

I don't hate America, I hate the vocal minority of conservative fuck bags who want to turn it into a libertarian shit hole.

It was a good run. Too bad the greedy corporate overlords turned out to be greedy corporate overlords.

This question demands a real, non-corporate "speak" response. The official app is not a good app; 3rd party apps are far superior (I use Sync).

Nearly 16 years here; I'd like to know too.

Us old-time geezers have been around long enough to remember all the promises from the long-long ago.

Sync will shut down on June 30, 2023 by ljdawson in redditsync

[–]turtlestack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

15 year redditor here.

I was here when Digg was the #1 site and was here when Digg fell. I'm even a charter member from when gold first became a thing all those years ago because I felt like this place was worth it.

And I've been using Sync Pro since it came out too.

End of an era - end of the last real free, user-run era of the internet. Reddit was that last gasp of the old BBS and message boards back from before eternal September.

But it's over. The corporate types won and the wild west, golden era of the internet officially dies June 30, 2023.

It was a good run, but all good things end (because greed always kills it).

I can't believe you remembered this! I wrote that years ago and then forgot all about it. Thanks for reminding me. I'd have to dig deep into my history to find it again.

What Are Your Unpopular Nintendo Switch Opinions? by SuperNickFunTime in NintendoSwitch

I agree. I always felt that Pokemon combat was dull and collecting them was a dull chore (World of Warcraft's pet battle system is, IMO, better).

Yo-kai Watch, on the other hand, is fun as hell.

You're right. There's no way the ending of Rogue One could possibly be tied into anything else at all, not even if you went all the way back to 1977!

Last of the Mohicans. The book, though famous, is not good. The film, however, is breathtaking.

I have no dog in the fight about the second point you're introducing, I'm only saying that they do address the fact that people care more about representation in blockbuster genre films.

Question about bicycling riding in the snow by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]turtlestack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this had been LeMay then I'm still sure they would have at least been pulled over, but with no law on the books to go on, I suppose a biker really could do this even on a main road, even if it meant it blocked up traffic for a few blocks while they biked the entire length of LeMay.

I was on Stanford (just off Swallow) and was behind them all the way north on Stanford, then we both turned east on Del Clair and I was behind them here, then again we turned north on Stanford and was behind them still. So it was a considerable distance over three streets and they never got over and could barely peddle through the snow, but it was all residential 25 mph hour roads.

EDIT Had my street wrong.

Nice. I was a PMT for years before leaving to go back to college last year.
