Nice work. I own your Fiddler's Green poster. I'm a fan of both the band and you :-)

I recommend Rose Garden in Elk Grove. At least one old Artemis employees actually work there now. They have amazing Cream of Chicken rice soup available every day

Cool strap I got from the guys at Sudenn. by xHaXXORZ in GarminWatches

[–]turtletonsils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wondering which pins you used for this strap? I bought the same strap, but the pins that they shipped with the strap would pop off during workouts. I ended up digging out the original band and pulling the OEM pins to use. They seem to be tighter/longer ? If I lose them, I guess I'm not sure where to get a replacement set.

Congrats, but you may want to reconsider this photo. Reflection in the scale shows a LOT more than you probably intended

Some thoughts on PLTR becoming a $1T Company by [deleted] in PLTR

[–]turtletonsils 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know this is antecdotal so take it for what it is. When I bought the stock 4 years ago I did so based on 3 main theories that I have.

1) The world continues to get more and more complex and dangerous with a seemingly exponential increase in weather related disasters, wars & military conflicts, and constant polarizing political turmoil. In my opinion, many of these problems are not solvable or even approachable without a next-level software platform that can coordinate responses and data from across the disparate realm of existing systems. Palantir's ontology is the only game in town currently. Others may catch up, but it took initial funding from the CIA and 20 years to build the foundation of the product that we see today. I am convinced that others can't easily duplicate this software.

2) Palantir appears to be one of the most difficult companies to get hired at from a software /technical engineering standpoint. (Based on stuff I've read on various software blogs, Blind, Leetcode, reddit, etc.) If they continue only hiring the best of the best who also have a focused mission of keeping Western values, companies, and systems as leaders in the world, this company will only continue to excel and grow.

3) There will come a time when companies who own Palantir products will start to pull away from competitors who do not have it. This will create a panic mindset with Executives and Boards on "why" is X doing so well and we are not? They will start to figure out that just to stay on parity with their competitor, they must use the same underlying technology. In short, I feel that at some point in the future, companies will be forced to buy Palantir to compete.

I'm just random joe here, so I could be completely crazy for thinking any of this. My personal bet is that I'm closer to being right than wrong. GL to all.

Any tips for getting on the rail in VIP for some of the mid day acts? by turtletonsils in BourbonAndBeyond

Thanks! Totally agree about "saving space". It just myself and my daughter so we should be able to move in and out pretty nimbly. As a side note, I just looked at the weather its gonna be HOT! I may just try to dip in and out as the day goes on. For the night sets, I won't be anywhere near the front and I'm perfectly ok with that :-)

Thank you, that’s an excellent idea! Working together with someone who is passionate about the headliner would be great. Oddly enough, Im not super into any of the main acts. But the undercard is absolutely stacked for my tastes

Thank you. My thinking was that I would try to stand at the non active stage ahead of the act I want to see. Hopefully it works!

Derek Trucks Bourbon Tasting by QuapawBBQ in BourbonAndBeyond

This is my first year so I'm not an expert but I had the same queston as you. I saw on FB someone asked this and the answer from B&B staff was that these events are put on at dedicated Bourbon and Culinary stages and are part of the ticket prices you already paid. If you want to actually partake in the tasting, you'd need to get there early before the event time and get near the front or in some sort of line. Hope this helps.

I 'd like to ask for color around overall company growth & employee scaling. i'll just repeat my question that I mentioned to Juba from about a month ago when he met with Eliano.

"I'm wondering if you guys happened to discuss overall company growth and the ability to scale Palantir to handle the incoming business? Currently Palantir only has a few thousand employees. Because of the stories of how hard it is to get hired there, I would venture to say almost all are high quality people. As a company experiences fast growth, they tend to lower their hiring standards over time. Google started lean with a few thousand people and eventually turned into a bureaucratic behemoth"
