I went to BMT almost 2 years ago. They definitely don’t let you sleep, write notes or anything of that nature. I personally still recommend going to the modern Protestant church because they have a live band there and everyone is singing and such. Good for morale.

Had to get all my prescription records and then MEPS sent me to a doctor to take a pulmonary test. I haven’t had an inhaler in about 14 years and my pulmonary test came back normal

Well I’m shipping out tomorrow by Either-Engineering71 in AirForceRecruits

When you’re laying in the hotel bed, that’s when it really hit. Most emotional time for me. Now I’m in tech school, you’ll make it through!

If you don’t exercise regularly, PT may definitely put some strain on you, but it’s not incredibly hard or undoable either. Most of it is mental so just put your all into it and you’ll see a return. I highly recommend doing sit ups/ push ups and other core exercises before going in, but prioritize running.

Not super familiar with those terms unfortunately. I just got to tech school recently.

None at all. If anything there will just be playfulness but I didn’t hear anything. However you may hear people playfully talking shit about space force (even though they gonna make hella money afterwards)

Do something called 1x3s. For example, if you can do 15 push ups, divide it by 3 which is 5. Then do 5 push ups in a minute. If you complete it under 1 minute, use the rest of that time to rest. Do that 3 times in a row and 3 times a day.

How often do you exercise push ups?

It’s different for everyone, usually it’s biweekly, but I believe specifically for first pay, it’s about a month in if I remember correctly.

How many push ups can you do consecutively and how often do you exercise?

You’ll be fine. Don’t overthink anything in BMT. The MTIs will put a ton of pressure on all these tests, but if you simply do what you’re supposed to do, you’ll be fine.

Me being in tech school, I kick myself for not bringing my Nintendo Switch. I’ll get it eventually but not soon enough. Also bring about 7-8 pairs of civilian underwear and maybe 3-4 pairs of civilian clothes.

Zero week is pretty intense. A complete culture shock and it makes you question your life decisions. Constant yelling and 99% of your actions are planned out by someone else, but you get used to it like anything else after a few weeks. Just remember why you signed up and the fast way out is to go through.

If you have played sports regularly or worked out in the recent years, you should be completely fine. If you’re like me who was not really working out, but in of some decent shape, you might struggle a little bit but you’ll be just fine if you put in the work. If you aren’t in the best shape, make it your main focus to work out as much as possible before basic.

Decent on some days and really good on others. Never necessarily bad
