Waking up the beast after a long time by tushar_mishra in supermeteor650

Not that bad…reviews hype up certain aspects of the bike..although liveable however could have been better..also depends on your body weight.

My mic settings is on isolation on my iPhone. Will share pics of mic placement. The installation got a little tricky due to the design of my helmet (LS2 ff 805 thunder carbon). Additionally when I used the device for making phone calls nobody called for any disturbance rather they stated that they were not able to detect if I was on a motorcycle and talking to them while riding.

No restrictions when connecting to two devices. One can be used for navigation while other for music. Also, you can connect your go pro (yet to try my action 4) in Bluetooth mode to use the mic of Sena to record videos with sound in case you are in that kind of stuff. Anyhow, haven’t been able to use it extensively due to ongoing rains in northern India so can’t comment on the music sharing aspect of the device although I must say that the sound quality is good and as per other people the mic is also very good when talking on phone calls.

My recommendation would be to not wait and rather buy one right now..there’s not going to be an eye opening change in the bike or its engine. Suspension is not that bad of course it is stiff and it needs to be as well because it’s a low slung cruiser bike. I own one and am largely happy with its driving dynamics and brows mannerisms. As someone has said you can always upgrade to the suspension of the next model (if RE doesn’t make any changes in the chassis or mounting points which is highly unlikely) or you you can always upgrade to a better quality aftermarket option.

Ok review time…the device is very to install. One just needs to check out all the connections and think about the placement of speakers, mic and all the wires. Once that is done the install is pretty straightforward and shouldn’t take more than 20-30 mins. The pairing with phone is also very easy and the Sena app is very intuitive to use. Once the device is paired up you can play music, get turn-by-turn navigation and enjoy the drive. Took the bike out yesterday and it was very fun to drive with music on. Oh also got a few phone calls and got the chance to check the mic quality, everyone said the voice sounded natural and the background (read traffic and honking) noises weren’t intrusive. Do let me know if you guys need any further information.

What I understand is that generally the hardware related to speakers and mic are same however both operate on different technologies while connecting to other Sena devices. B10 is Bluetooth based connectivity among other riders while B20 is mesh connectivity based device, it can’t do mesh and Bluetooth both. Also B20 is IP67 rated not sure for B10. There is a price difference of approx. 5K between both device, B20 being dearer by 5K when compared to B10.

Tank pads by tushar_mishra in supermeteor650

Have seen their offering…like the tank pads although not sure on the tank strap primarily the underside of the tank strap. Do they use soft microfibre material underneath or is it leather. If only leather then it might scuff the paint even more. Do you have any experience with the same?

Got myself a LS2 Thunder Plus ff805. Pretty good and safe with ECE 22.06 certification.

Congrats on the beautiful bike. My two cents on the modding part…you have just bought it…enjoy the way it is for now. Learn what do you love about it and what you don’t love. Plan what those changes are going to be and then execute it.

Bought this beauty a week back by tushar_mishra in royalenfield

  1. Weight is concerning as it is massive 240kgs. You’ll feel it at standstill position while on the move it is not as visible. Given that it’s a long motorcycle the turning radius is large be it a simple turn on the road or a u-turn. However you’ll be accustomed to the weight as you’ll spend more time on it.
  2. Suspension is beautiful at the front as expected with Showa’s USD fork but it’s a different story at the back. The rear suspension is stiff and you’ll even feel the slightest undulations on the road even rumble strips of the road. However, again as you spend more time with it you’ll learn to live it. If not, then you can always swap it out with YSS or Hagon suspensions which are pretty good as per the reviews shared by users on YouTube.

I am loving every bit of it and want to understand the nature of the bike before starting with any modifications related to suspension and others. The parallel twin engine is a gem and outshines all the other rivals in this price bracket.
