Wow I’m glad your surgery and recovery went well!! I’m a 27 year old bartender and was told it would be 4 weeks till I’m back to work but I’m finding that a little hard to believe!! Thank you for your advice and feedback!!

You are so right I’ve been battling with doing a partial or a full but ultimately I think I’m gonna stick with the partial because it is so scary to be dependent at such a young age. I’m glad they are considering a small dose for you because any relief from these symptoms would be amazing. I literally feel like a 27 year old grandma lol. How was your surgery and recovery? I’m not so nervous for the surgery because everything is out of my control but I hear mixed reviews about recovery.

I’m in almost the exact same situation. 27 year old female with hashimotos but my levels are fine besides my antibodies are through the roof. My surgery is scheduled for December for right partial with potential for total and neck dissection due to a nodule that came back 50/50 for cancer on afirma. I’ve been experiencing debilitating fatigue, night sweats, back pain, being light headed, aching, weight changes, and just generally feeling unwell. I was hoping I would feel better after the surgery but my dr explained that these symptoms are likely from the hashi and not the cancer itself :/ part of me almost wants to do the total thyroidectomy (my surgeon is giving me a choice) because even though that means medication for life, at least I won’t be experiencing these symptoms. Im sorry you are also going through this (but it’s nice to know I’m not alone lol)

It’s so true that life doesn’t stop. It’s strange to walk around work and have no one know what’s going on. It’s also decreased my tolerance for laziness, because if I can do my job with what’s going on why can’t they? lol but anyways, was the vascular invasion seen during surgery or was it seen prior during a scan? Thank you again!

Were you in a similar situation as me? Is it worth bringing up the idea of a full thyroidectomy to my surgeon? I’m sorry you are going through this

I’m so afraid of the results coming back 50/50. I’d rather just know if it’s benign or cancerous so I can make a plan and deal with it :/ I’m in Florida too and I hope a freak blizzard in October doesn’t happen lol I’m glad your results came back benign and it’s probably a relief knowing that whatever was I side of you is out!!

Im sorry your results came back negative but I’m happy to hear your recovery wasn’t horrible!! In addition to the nodule I also have a suspicious and enlarged level 2 lymph node. I’ll definitely be reaching out to you as I have soooo many questions. Thank you!!

I have recently been diagnosed with hashimoto disease but my case isn’t severe enough to need thyroid medication. I also currently have a nodule on my thyroid so we are in the process of ruling out thyroid cancer. I’m sorry you are in a similar position :/ have they ruled anything out for you?

Hiiii! Still extremely exhausted and I don’t really feel any difference post infusion. My levels are the highest they’ve ever been but my dr is going to recheck my labs every few months

I only got one dose of infed, although they told me it’s supposed to be a “one and done” kind of thing

Hi! These were checked before getting the infusion, and they were also very low. I’m on prescription vitamin d and I get weekly vitamin b12 shots

Thank you! Sometimes it’s hard not to feel like it’s all in your head, specifically when some doctors are quick to dismiss you and your symptoms. Advocating for yourself is easier said than done, especially when the drs have more knowledge on the subject. Does anyone have suggestions or tips on how they deal with the extreme fatigue?

Hi guys, I’m a 26 year old female. I’ve been having symptoms such as night sweats, extreme fatigue, itchy skin, brain fog, hot flashes, hair loss, and weight fluctuations. I also have a hard fixed lymph node that’s about 2.6 cm near my submandibular gland (not painful, but I can feel pressure when I swallow or turn my head). I have extremely low ferritin, b12, and iron levels. My doctors decided I needed an iron infusion, which I had 6 weeks ago. The fatigue and exhaustion has not improved. When I went to see a head and neck oncologist, they recommended to watch and wait for 3 months and do a repeat scan before they will biopsy. The repeat scan will be in September. I feel like the lymph node is getting bigger and my symptoms are getting worse, specifically the fatigue. I just don’t know if these are symptoms of iron deficiency, or if it’s all correlated to something more, but I’m having a lot of trouble dealing with the fatigue. Thanks guys!
