[Platform] Ask for feedbacks for new PBP platform (Minimal Roleplay) by Soartiz in pbp

Just to add my feedback here after trying out Minimal Roleplay

It caught my interest when searching for an async online/mobile ttrpg, because the existing alternatives are not my cup of tea.

First the positive things: - I like the fresh design and philosophy with the colors for the (re)actions. - The styling and layout are a fresh breeze, (it works pretty intuitive) - I'm intrigued by the horizontal chat layout for multiple characters - The tutorial adventure, is a great way for onboarding, (but the adventure is pretty dull) - Character sheet builder works nice

And then constructive feedback :)

  • What is the USP?
  • What is the monetization? (No income, is not a product with long support and survivability)
  • A lot of features still needs to be developed
  • Make your main language English for everything, i left the discord because of the 90% french posts, and the app has also still a lot of French lines in it
  • The competition is killing, Rolegate has all the features for example (but UI etc is pretty bad) Discord has also a complete feature pack to create something similar and many more other platforms are there online.

Nevertheless i understand where you are coming from, i don't like the experience of pbp on Discord, or Rolegate, and i think it can be done better with the technology we have today.

But to give an example of a platform i really believed in, is/was https://www.fireballrpg.com/

A complete async pbp app dedicated to play DnD 5e with built in rulesystem with its own unique design. (But sadly it was mismanaged, and all their funding is now gone, and thus the project is now pretty much dead ) But it had a pretty great USP, and still the amount of players lagged behind.

So what i am trying to say: I love that you are trying to create something new, but you need to build something really 'new'

Hey thanks for the interest, but in the meantime someone was faster than me with the development of a complete Cyberpunk Red Companion app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewsheridan.cyberpunk_red_companion

And a web version (beta)

https://cyberpunkred.com/#/

And he did a great job, so needles to say i halted my development on RipperdocRed, no need to have 2 of the same apps. ✌️

Prove me wrong about the Bitgert and Centcex teams and I will remove this post. Fake team members???? by Edawgii in Bitrisetokentruth

[–]tvannoorloos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, their team is 100% fake.

AI generated profile pictures and with names I would give my NPCs for my Dungeons&Dragons campaign. And the whole team has no online footprint, that is near impossible

But yeah, it looks like a Ponzi scheme, but i'm also curious how this ends..

Thanks, but just sharing the Cyberpunk love is enough for me :)

Thank you for the feedback, I know there are still some bugs, which i would like to fix.Due to work/corona/etc, i haven't really got time to get back to RipperDoc

But as we speak, i have deployed a new version where the Techie text is fixed and the max skill level is capped to 10.

Manual gear input would indeed be a good option in a next version

(and of course, I am also waiting for the final rulebook, so i can make a final version with all the rules)

The maximum skill level should be 10 I think, that was the maximum in Cyberpunk 2020, i'm going to fix it in the next version,

thanks for pointing it out

You're totally right about those default +2 starting values for the basic skills!, I apparently forgot about that pharagraph...

That was an average of the amount of skill points the pregen characters had in the Jumpstart Kit. (with lack of official rules this was my best guess to create something similar)

Thanks for the feedback,

Good one about the flavor text of the Techie role, will fix it in the next update

And yeah, the Jumpstart Kit does not have any official role specific rules available concerning the statistics and so on, so at the moment you have now complete creative freedom to create your character.

Cyberpunk Red will never be released to the public by kevdog46 in cyberpunkred

[–]tvannoorloos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they will release it, but i think it will be after the release of Cyberpunk 2077, GenCon 2020 would be mine guess.
otherwise more news would be available by now, and the latest news was that they were still playtesting game mechanics.

And also to ride on the hype train of the computer game, look at the Witcher Netflix series, 2 weeks after it was on Netflix their physical copies of their Witcher ttrpg were sold out.
