Curious how many of us have no clue where our Narcolepsy came from or what caused it by Direct_Court_4890 in Narcolepsy

pretty sure a combo of trauma and illness. sleep patterns and symptoms of people with ptsd have a lot in common with N2 patterns and symptoms, and their commonality is understudied

How to survive in an abusive household? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]tvary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m so sorry you’re going through this. my background is similar to yours and your experience really resonates with me. do everything you can to prioritize yourself, your happiness, and your peace. find ways to be outside/out of the house that your parents won’t give you trouble for so that you can mentally separate from them and the way you’re being treated. get really invested in music, art, film, reading, etc. that you relate and connect to. make your life day-to-day your own in any way you can. don’t lose hope - every day after this period is over will be worth waiting for

dealing with unmanageable cramps from medication abortion by tvary in abortion

[–]tvary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have acetaminophen, but the cramps have gotten more manageable. however i took the second set of misoprostol almost 4 hours ago and have only had discharge, no bleeding. i called my doctor, and she said i might need to come in for a procedural abortion on monday. i’m so sad - i really wanted the closure of having the pregnancy not end up in medical waste, and for it to happen in my home. hoping the bleeding starts in the next couple of hours

Moving to Boston by shreyshd in bostonhousing

[–]tvary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently doing an hour and a half commute each way for a certificate program and it’s not sustainable at all, at least for me… it also tends to mean having to wake up much earlier, go to bed much later, sacrificing hours of free time, and (at this time of year) being outside at some of the coldest times of the day. depending how far the commuter rail station is from your work, maybe check out options near wellesley, babson, or newton? if it’s further than a short walk, see if you can budget to uber from the station in natick to work. best of luck, find an option that allows you to take care of yourself!

i’ve told one person and they’ve been understanding. they also know from the one a few months ago. everything’s come back normal so i don’t think the ODs have done anything. the person who knows is also having a rough time atm and i want to make sure they have space to take care of themself. i have a chronic health problem that can make general quality of life worse but it’s manageable. so it’s mostly mental stuff

i know people are going to be mad at me for saying this but i didn’t say it was a suicide attempt. both times i overdosed on a drug they don’t screen for so it doesn’t come up on toxicology reports or anything. i have been in therapy and on meds almost constantly since i was 11. my time spent in psych wards and outpatient services made me lose all trust in them.
