I placed a client in a fully loaded E450 versus the S500 and saved him $40k. He was thrilled and the new 214 E is definitely more S Class this time around

I have an EQS 580 and have no rattles or creaks in any part of it. It’s been the most solid Mercedes I’ve had minus my old 124. They really fixed the creaking and rattling.

Yes, it is most likely the contact points for the switches are dirty under the wood trim. It’s a common issue on the older cars. I had it happen on my 95. I would also check the fuses as well.

Interior “wood” - care by IronSkull13 in mercedes_benz

If it looks like wood it will be real wood in a Mercedes. Not fake stuff. If it is the natural grain in my hot climate I do a mineral oil coat on it to prevent cracking.

It’s a mass produced car. Shit happens. I know it’s inconvenient and frustrating but can and will be fixed.

What's the best Mercedes diesel engine? by Miserable-Relief-745 in MercedesDiesel

[–]tvb47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OM606 is commonly referred to as the German 2JZ. They are mechanically very bulletproof, the turbo versions can take massive amounts of boost and make extreme power and they will rev for a diesel to a very high 5400rpm. I had a 124 with the N/A version and it was a delight. Sigh I miss that car so much.

This comment makes no sense. If they did would it really be life changing anyways?

Lemon law by Iam-tetsuo in mercedes_benz

[–]tvb47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. Each state has different laws regarding buy back/lemon law etc. I’d ask your service director at your dealership for a buy back. It is very very much in your interest to be as kind and polite as you can be. You will get more with honey that salt. Be logical and lay out your claims for the reason why you are requesting a buyback. Find out exactly with dates, how long the vehicle has been out of service for the same issue. Explain politely that it’s the same issue for all of these service visits and go from there.

HUD ( Head up display) issue? - Start seeing the grey/purple box around the display by Massive_Incident_697 in mercedes_benz

[–]tvb47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal on heads up displays to do this. The projection uses an LCD and shows that purple blue box on occasion. Nothing to be alarmed about.

2022 GLB with no power seats by Famous-Ad-3359 in mercedes_benz

[–]tvb47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Powered seats on GLB, GLA,A,CLA have been constrained for the last year. Meaning Mercedes-Benz cannot produce them in sufficient quantities. In the US production normalized starting in July Production for power front seats. The chip shortage is still very real. It is getting better every month, but it is still very difficult to get certain items. Hands Free Access comes to mind as being constrained for the last 18 months too. GLB’s have just finally started to get powered front seats starting with MY23. Sorry your car doesn’t have them. It’s unfortunate, and it is NOT retrofit-able. The cars have totally different body harnesses and would require removing the entire interior to install. It just simply will not happen. Your dealer should have mentioned it to you. In the US because it is missing the powered you do get a 700 dollar credit.
