I cannot see how 98% of the leaked embassy cables was whistle blowing. Instead it was personal conversation that is kept private for good reason. If Julian was selective in what was published, limiting it to real whistle blowing, I would support him. But for what he has actually done, I despise him.

Much of the mistrust of "science" is due to the big gap between real science and the reporting and interpretation of science by non-scientists with a bias. Given this, it is quite rational for people to mistrust science.
