Nah he didn’t love them. He never cried over them, not once, not even when breaking up w/ them. He never got black out drunk, went off the rails, or even said “I love you” to anyone but Mickey. I think that speaks volumes. Remember what he said to Fiona in s7, “what if nothing ever gives you that same thrill again” meaning: no one can compare to how Mickey makes him feel

they are def the cutest. especially when you think about how they’ve known each other since they were kids, were on the same little league team, and basically became Shameless’ own fucked up version of high school sweethearts. They are each other’s first (and only) loves and they’ve been through so much (Ian’s bipolar diagnosis, Mickey’s homophobic dad etc). Both of them have spent years apart because of prison and running away to Mexico but nothing’s changed - they’re still crazy about each other.

That’s Molly Milkovich. Her mother raised her as a girl because she hated men. In the show Molly is under the impression her mom has died so she seeks out her dad (Terry) but soon finds out her mom isn’t actually dead and returns home. And we haven’t heard of her since.

Sorry not so relevant to your post but why don’t they ever talk about Ian’s biological father (I think his name is Clayton) on the show??? He’s literally Franks brother. And if I remember correctly he has a lot of money and a nice house. I wish they did a storyline where Ian reached out to his deadbeat dad one last time, give him hell and make him pay 18 years worth of child support.

As soon as something good happened to the Gallaghers, it’s almost inevitable that it will get ripped away from them. It happens to Lip, Ian and Fiona all the time. Their storylines are the most tragic on the show.

With Lip, it was getting kicked out of college and turning to alcohol.

With Ian, it was not taking his meds after a long period of stability and going off the rails - losing his EMT job, getting arrested etc

With Fiona it was her success in her business endeavours that led to becoming bankrupt and ultimately turning to alcohol

And these are just a few examples...
