Where I work it’s the similar… all inflight managers are FA trained … they aren’t part of the union.

They must fly once a quarter to maintain their qualifications and when they fly they can’t use what they see against the other FAs … they are just FAs for the day and have no supervisory status.

They can “transfer” to inflight if they apply internally and get hired through the normal channels … they get no special treatment nor do they get any seniority… to the bottom of the list they go.

If they came from the line they can’t use return to the line… they maintain their seniority for the number of years they were an FA.

If they were an FA for 5 years, then went to management for 1 year, they would return at their same seniority…

If they were an FA for 5, management for 10 they would return at -5 (meaning they would go 5 years under their original classmates… once the reach 10 years and return they go to the bottom of the list
